My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant following the recommendation from the owner of the apartment we were renting in Porto.
When we arrived it was full, the host was very friendly.
The food is absolutely amazing. If you like fish and seafood, you must try it! We tried octopus salad (so tender it melts in your mouth), grilled squid (so tender and delicious), prosciutto (great flavour), roasted green peppers and sea bass (the best fish I have ever eaten - the waiter comes to your table and debones it in a matter of seconds). Then we went back a second time for sardines, which were worth the metro ride there.
The deserts are also delicious - the cheesecake and almont tart.
If you're coming from Porto you can easily get there by metro, it takes about 45 minutes because you have to change lines and the metro doesn't travel very fast.
If you goi during the day you can also go visit the beach/bordwalk nearby, we were pleasantly surprised.
All in all a highlight to our trip.

We had been recommended to go to Matosinhos which is about 15 minutes by taxi from Porto.
There are many fish restaurants here as it is by a fishing harbour.
My husband had come to this one before and it had been good.
It was a sunday lunch time and very very busy. We later learned it was mothers day so that might explain why there were so many families out for lunch.
We had to queue up - make sure you get your name down on the list and they will call you. You can sit outside or inside. I would recommend outside which is a covered area next to the road but quite interesting to watch the world go by.
The fish is cooked on an outdoor grill. You choose the fish from a fresh counter. We had a large turbot between 4 - it was delicious.
Starter was padron peppers, small sardines and squid. All delicious - I would especially recommend the squid which was chopped up small and cooked in a delicious sauce.
Service can be slow but it all gets there eventually so be patient and enjoy the atmosphere and anticipate the good food.

I was three times in one week - any more questions?
The fish is fresh, the wine good, the staff authentic. A superb experience of portogiese cousine.
Fresh fish and seafood from the grill, nice salats, olives and bread.
A very good value for the price compared, with the tourism traps in down town Porto.
Had sardines, callamari, red mullet, dorade... All very good.
Kopke is a very tasty vino verde (white wine).

Visited during Festa do Mar. Waiters are distracted even when the terrace is half full. Sea bass - excellent, sardines - well, how could they be, if ya don't get them good in Matosinhos, where else?
Polvo asado no forno - no, no, no, bacalhao - no, no.
After reading some reviews, we wanted to go Salta-o-Muro first, but it was really unwelcoming and gloomy, no terrace and the waiters who were outside did nothing whatsoever to stir our curiosity, so we just crossed the street and Tito it was.
