My husband and I stopped in Gouveia especially to eat at Julio the recommended "Javali ao forno" (baked wild boar) and they didn't have on the menu. So we decided to give it a try on other dishes and what a disappointment! My husband ate a tasteless "Arroz com entrecosto" (rice and pork) and I a carrot soup, the best alternative for me who are not crazy about pork. They didn't have any other meat or fish on the menu of the day. We left the restaurant and went to a coffee house by the cathedral and had coffee and pastries instead.
