Let’s start at the beginning: As we came in (3 people), we were greeted by the fish counter staff who urged us to pick a fish to have grilled for us. We settled on a snapper/rock fish. We were quoted a price per kilo and were told that the price included everything but the drinks. When we asked for vegetables, they named a few. We sat down ordered wine and water. The bottle of wine was $12E. The waiter brought 5 appetizers to choose from. We chose the ham. Soon enough we got the fish with potatoes and a small plate of soggy vegetables. We fish was flavorful and we ate the vegetables since we were hungry. We skipped dessert and got the check. The bottle of wine was down as $24E. We were charged for the ham, the veggies and the bread. We accepted the fact that we were lied to at the begging but questioned the price of the wine. The waiter took the check back and returned with the corrected bill. He was very apologetic. When we wanted to pay with Visa, we were told the machine was out and they only took cash. They pretended they had a sign on the fish counter which mentioned that. There had not been any such sign. We ended up paying with dollars and a $5 E note. We felt we were targeted as naive tourists to be fleeced to the max.
