We arrived @ 12-30 hours room keys by 13-00 hours no problems as reported by other guests about room availability. All staff very friendly and helpful ,room very clean requested 2 items for kitchen a microwave and toaster arrived within the hour at no extra charge. The whistling kettle worked fine as long as you set the hob at the one o'clock position hot water from kettle in a few minutes, enjoyed our stay for four weeks.

Upgraded to single bedroom apartment as the studio apartment we booked was on the ground floor and was was far too small for two adults to be comfortable for a ten day stay. We were lucky that there was availability. Both apartments were spotless and although basic were fitted with modern appliances and comfortable furniture. We had maid service every day with clean towels etc. Service at reception as friendly and efficient and every request or enquiry made was met with helpful or accurate advice. The same goes for the barstaff who were friendly and efficient with their service. Tuesday night is karaoke night, always good for a giggle. Premier league footie is shown but the commentary is in Portugese sadly.
There were always sun beds available around both pools at any time of day, (we were out of season though) and generally quiet as mainly adults.
The Prai De Roche beach (500mts max) and surrounding beaches are stunning and only a short walk from the complex. Portimao town and port are a shortish walk (1 kilometer) but there buses and taxis for those less energetic.
Bad points? Non to speak of. Okay the seagulls can be a bit loud sometimes, they seem to roost on nearby properties. The complex has installed thin nylon wires spanning the main pools and sunbathing areas so birds are not a pysical nuisance within the complex. However, I would remind readers that seagulls are no better than flying rats (carriers of disease and lice) and feeding them for amusement will only bring more of them to pester, annoy and possibly infect.
The weather this time of year is still very good although we did have a couple of overcast days, take heed, sun block is still required. Do hire a car and see Sagres (beaches), Monchique and Silves you will not be disappointed. The Algarve is beautiful, experience as much of it as you can.
Be wary and vigilant before and when walking back from the strip late at night. We witnessed a bag snatching incident. A rare occurence apparently. However, Porgugal's economic problems are worsening, high unemployment and taxes are giving the locals a tough time. Where ever you go in the world there is always crime so use a bit of common sense.
Hope this was useful.

Room Tip: If you are a couple, a one bedroom apartment is the minimum. Although we only saw one studio apartme...

Stayed Sept 14 - 21 with friends/family....LOOK NO FURTHER!!! EXCELLENT value! Great location - 5 minute walk to unbelieveable beach! Walking distance to restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs & the boardwalk but far enough away that you don't hear the noise at night. Older resort but grounds are well kept, 2 great pools (clean!), lots of loungers, bar, restaurant, a/c, wifi, super clean rooms, comfy beds, staff is friendly & helpful, free parking - what more do you need? You can pay several hundred dollars extra for the week at a newer more modern looking hotel, maybe you'll save a couple minutes walk to the beach but is that worth it? Seriously, how much time do you actually spend in your room? See you next year! (and the year after, and the year after...)

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a/c - double check before you book!

We had 5 nights 4 day stay and it was very peaceful and all the staff made us very welcome.
The resort complex was clean tidy and the maids did a great job every day.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and in the room was a bowl of fruit and a bottle of bubbly in and ice bucket which was a nice touch, well appreciated and went down very well Saturday night before we went out.
Far enough away from the main strip but close enough to walk in to at night.
We will return and thanks very much to all the staff.

Me and my girlfriend (both in early 20's) stayed here between 16/09/12 and 26/09/12 and really enjoyed it!! The hotel is great value for money, its obviously not really posh and modern but for a three star its very well kept, clean, tidy and the room we had was very nice.

The pool was very nice and clean and the pool bar was reasonably priced. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, as were all of the hotel reception staff who helped us with directions many times!

There is also a mini-market and a restaurant on the hotel complex along with tennis courts, and a smaller pool. The hotel was around a 5-10 minute walk from the beach and the strip where all the restaurants, bars and shops are, and its about 10-15 minute walk the other direction to the old town and a supermarket which is huge and very well priced if you are self catering.

Overall it was a brilliant hotel and a very nice place, lots to do for all ages, its not on the coast but that's why its well priced but its location is still very good.

The only negatives in our experience were that the corridors outside of our room were quite big and echoed a lot, when people came home early in the morning, or when the maids were cleaning rooms early then the shouts and bangs did wake us up and were a bit annoying.

Recommendation's:
We stayed in a "Superior Studio Apartment" which was a really good size and a nice room, we also requested a balcony for a pool view (as other reviews recommended because other views are mostly other buildings). For eating out we would also definatly recommend an Italian restaurant at the end of the strip called "Bulli & Pupe" we ate there a lot, and also a place called Hollywood.

We would definatly go back to this hotel. Hope it helps!!

Room Tip: Superior rooms are a better size and request a balcony with a pool view.

just back from a 11 day holiday ,good clean, great pool area, hired a car for 3 days seen a lot of the area.about 10 min walk from the villa to the strip .couple of small things we were watching the big tv screen the grand prix was on but it was turned over for the football,8or 9 people where watching there was only 2 wanting the football .the pillows where a bit lumpy ,dogs barking at night and the seagulls where on the roof opp very noisy ,shut windows was the cure but it became very hot in room thats me just being a pain .The only bad bit is walking back from the strip after 12 a car stoped near the back entrance a guy got out the car tried to snatch the wifes bag there was a bit of a struggle ,he did not get the bag made off .contacted the night porter ,he phoned the police.just a wee warning to any body walking back at night beware ,get a taxi back,no wanting to put any body off this great villa rosa but we just feel the need for others to beware of this bag snatching from some idiots that could spoil a good holiday.i will come back to the villa rosa much enjoyed .john drummond.

Room Tip: pool veiw .corner suites are large and sunny.

just got back from vilarosa, it was nice for a chill out, nice apartment, there was a nice resteraunt called safari food lovely, staff great. we had a superior room at vilarosa it was clean maids everyday, reception staff lovely, barman Eliat always happy and very helpful. you have to be fit as some of the apartments there is 33 steps to climb, steps everywhere even down to the beach, we won't be returning there as we found the steps exhausting, the view from our apartment was high rise apartments so that was a bit of a let down. we did overlook the pool so that was nice.

Room Tip: superior room
