“Excellent Food, Great Host”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

We actually came by this restaurant by coincidence while we were wandering through the old city (stari grad). The host (Naim) is more friendly than one could imagine, he showed us some freshly catched fishes and did some proposals about which ones are really great. We chose the one of which he said it`s Montenegro`s absolute finest (tarbot flatfish) and also a sea-bass. Other fish on the menu is the sea-bream, the dentex, the flounder, squids and shrimps... One can also eat some great meat over here like steak with mushrooms... Naim cleaned the fishes right in front of our eyes and I must say this was the best fish-plate I have ever eaten, it also came with some homemade garlicsauce which extended the whole eating-experience to a heavenly climax. Again, it was the best fish plate I`ve ever had. It also came with some vegetables (tomatoes, cucumber, olives, ...) of which the taste is absolutely astonishing (the taste of the vegetables in Belgium wouldn`t stand the slightest chance in a taste-contest against the ones here). Our meal was accompanied by some great family-made white wine and after we finished we were offered a coffee and a (very tasty) homemade rakija from the house. The dinner here is one of the greatest eating-experiences I`ve ever had... Also the restaurant is open the whole year, so also in winter when you want to eat hear you can call +38269448962.

“Good Food, Gracious Host”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

We ate here based on previous TA reviews. Although they don't speak English, they do speak virtually every other language and have a menu in English. We had grilled shrimp and squid for appetizers and a whole flat fish to share for our main. The fish was 1.1 kilo and was cooked to perfection. The appetizers were good, though not much in the way of flavoring. We had a carafe of his house wine, which was made by the proprietor and quite good, as well as cheap at Euro 6.00. The fish was on the expensive side , at Euro 40/kilo, so make sure you know ahead what you will be charged. We were offered divestures after the meal, only to find we were charged for them. He never said they were included, but certainly hinted at a it.

It poured buckets the insight we ate there, unfortunately, as the view from the restaurant is breathtaking. Definitely a romantic place.

“Subtly Passionate Authenticity”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

One is truly fortunate to dine here up high by the fortress overlooking the Adriatic. And one is especially lucky if self proclaimed Sheik Gimo himself extends his warm hospitality to you over a shot of his house rakia. Expect authentic traditional seafood specialties made with local ingredients and a subtle passion that's hard to fake.

“Charming, Quality Family Restaurant”
Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

We stumbled across this restaurant by accident as we wandered the old city of Ulcinj. The owner was very charming and delightful in telling us tales of history and his travels around the world. The food was flavorful, plentiful and the menu was extenisive of mediterranean, Italian and local dishes. The view was gorgeous, especially since we were there during sunset and the old city of Ulcinj is perched high up on a cliff that juts out into the sea, and the restaurant is well located for a wonderful view. We truly enjoyed this wonderful gem and would highly recommend it.
