This review is a bit late....we stayed last year and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are spacious and the views beautiful. The breakfasts were wonderful: fresh cappuccino, homemade yogurt and jam...just awesome. The owners were super nice, and had great restaurant recommendations (Erba Luna was amazing, and the pizza place was the most affordable resto we ate at in all of Italy!). I'd definitely reommend this place.

This agriturismo is a wonderful place to stay if you're planning to visit the Perugia region of Italy. It is a little out of the way up a slight hill, but we made it with no problems in a small Fiat Panda. We were rewarded with some of the most spectacular views of the Perugian countryside from our patio balcony. Our room was quite large with a fully equip kitchenette and a large en-suite bathroom. The lady who owns the agriturismo is named Fabrizia and her husband is named Nicola. They both speak very good english. The main house is tastefully decorated and quite comfy and the breakfasts' consist of fresh yoghurts and croissants and hot coffee or cappuccinos It is an excellent place to use as a base for visiting neighboring towns such as Perugia, Gubbio, and Todi. Or simply to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. I would not hesitate to return here if we are visiting the same region of Italy again. Mille Grazie Fabrizia e Nicola.

Room Tip: ask for the lower apartment with the patio.

A place of beauty. Travel along a 2 km lane to arrive at Monte Valentino - an old castle with a 1000 year old cellar. Breakfast is outside, accompanied by the smell of Italian coffee and warm croissants. Fabrizia is responsible for the jam and Nicola for the sweet cherry wine. The sound of cicadas prevades the air and olive trees dot the landscape. The apartments are clean and simple - a break from 21st century technology. The swimming pool was made by the enterprising Nicola with the help of his fabulous wife - it's beautifully situated but views abound. Hiring a car is essential and the nearby medieval towns of Montone, Gubbio and Pietralunga have plenty to offer. This is rustic Italy -few tourists and designer shops. I'll return.

Enjoyed our stay here very much. Stunning views of the surrounding hillsides. Very quiet and relaxing. Our host Fabrizia was really nice and helpful. The room was very pleasant and clean and included a nice little kitchen and mini-fridge (we cooked in it all 4 nights we were there). We stayed in the Verde room. There was also a nice breakfast every morning in the main house. It's a great place for quiet and relaxation, and wonderful to be surrounded by nature. A nice change from the big cities! The only thing to keep in mind, however, is that it's almost a 20 minute drive from the autostrada.

We found Monte Valentino online, and were excited by the photos showing panoramic views outside and excellent design sensibilities inside. We're from the U.S., and figured after a couple days in Rome we'd be looking for a quiet honeymoon hideaway far from the crowds of tourists in Rome and Tuscany. So we took a leap of faith, booked a room for three nights, and a month later found ourselves driving a rental car up the winding road to Monte Valentino.

We instantly fell in love with the place, in no small part because of the warmth of Fabri and Nico, an extraordinary renaissance couple who have poured their lives into making Monte Valentino an outrageously wonderful place to stay. After a greeting that made us feel like we were visiting old friends, we were shown our private room with a kitchen and stunning balcony views. It seemed like everywhere we turned, we each found things that met our needs perfectly! How did they know I needed a working mountain bike and an acoustic guitar to be deeply happy? And with the sweet little dog, Visciola, and the robust patch of lavender, my wife was happy, and we were in honeymoon heaven.

Breakfasts at Monte Valentino are a treat, served in the common room with abundant hot croissants and homemade jams (love the fig and cherry jams!). The small, well-equipped kitchen in our room let us cook when we wanted to, but for the most part we ventured off to visit cool nearby medieval towns like Gubbio during the day.

We enjoyed Monte Valentino so much we ended staying longer than our reservation. But after two more weeks traveling around Northern Italy and visiting several other places, we wish we had stayed at Monte Valentino even longer. This was far and away the best place we stayed during our time in Italy, and we look forward to seeing Fabri and Nico again when we return some day.
