“Perfect in every way!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

There are only three rooms here at SommaVilla and we had them all booked out with friends to attend a wedding outside of Florence. We all hired cars which I think is key to staying here as it is about an hour from Florence. We drove from Pisa airport which took around 2 hours. I am rating location excellent due to this being close to the wedding service and reception but regarding other areas / points of interest based on the type of holiday you want this may not be excellent for you.

This place is just beautiful it has a good contrast of traditional Italian features blended with modern and hotel standard features. The bathrooms are lovely - the beamed ceilings and wooden windows keep it traditional and comfortable. It has a sitting area upstairs and a dining room downstairs - basically it felt very homely. They have a pool which is very private from the house and drops down behind the house with amazing views of the Tuscan countryside - a field with horses in one side and not much on the other side.

Breakfast is included and there was variation on both mornings, this included meats, cheeses, fruits, cakes, breads and freshly made eggs anyway you want. It was amazing and we couldn't help stuffing our faces!

The owners are friendly, welcoming and very much keep to themselves so you can wander about and do what you want without getting in their way. They also have three young cats of which two are very friendly and will come up to you and want a stroke - they are very sweet and gentle and don't scratch and normally jump around chasing moths etc around the grassy bit near the pool or lay in the shade. They are no problem but I love cats so it was not an issue for me, but thought it was worth mentioning in case anyone hates them.

The worst part about the stay was leaving - I wish I had of booked longer here but had already booked my next B&B south of Florence. I will definitely be back!!

Thanks for such a memorable trip in Italy.

Room Tip: All three rooms are lovely - there are two front rooms and one back room. We stayed in the back room...

My girlfriend and I spend a night at the Sommavilla and it was amazing!!!
At first we enjoyed a warm welcome; the owners were very nice and honest people.
The room was so beautiful and practical. The view outside was breath taking and the pool was at the perfect size.
The next morning the owner served us a wonderful and rich European breakfast.
During that 24 hours we literally felt how it feels to live in Tuscany like the locals do. We wanted to stay there for another night but we could not because we had a fixed schedule.
We plan to come again on September this year for a couple of night so we can truly experience this amazing place.
Thank you Sommavilla
