We normally like to go to Europe in early June but spring was a nice change this year. Look into buying a BMW or Mercedes for European delivery which allows you to get the car in Germany, receive a 7% discount and then drive it around instead of renting a car which is expensive in Italy. Then they ship it back to your dealer for you at no charge. We flew into Munich and then drove down in a 328 convertible.
For our third visit to the farm, we stayed in the Erta house which is on the sheep milking side. We like this farm for its location between Sienna and Florence Cheese is the key to this great farm plus getting advice from Mirella on local happenings. We cant wait to come back in two years.

Our family of 5 stayed in the Gina house for 5 days over Easter and could not have been more pleased with our accommodations and hosts.
The property is about a 20-25 minute drive from Florence, or you can drive into a nearby town and take the bus to Florence. We went into Florence three different times and found it very easy to get to. We also took day trips throughout the Chianti region and visited Volterra (highly recommend) and San Gimigniano (recommended as well). Very well situated for Siena, we just ran out of time.
Now, for the property. Mirella was great! Once the reservation was made, she answered many of my questns and provided a lot of information about the area we would be visiting. This was extremely helpful.
Upon arrival, the house was well equipped with everything you would need to get you started (some coffee and kitchen basics). The house is very rustic. A nice kitchen, dining area and living area downstairs. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a bathroom. Very spacious. The view from each window are of the surrounding countryside. Bellissimo!
Since it is a working cheese farm and vineyard, take a tour to see how it all works. We took a 40 minute hike to the other side of the property to see the animals and the kids loved it! They also loved Lulu the dog and the cats outside our house. They were crying when we had to leave them behind!
By the way, the wine was the best of anywhere we tried in the region and the cheese was amazing. If we could have stayed forever, we probably would have. Stay here. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed in Giallo apartment in Fallochio House for 10 days for a friend's wedding in September 2012. The apartment was a lovely size and we felt there was plenty of room for cooking, eating and sleeping. The beds are comfortable and kitchen well kitted out. The furniture in the lounge is a little old school but considering how much time one spends there, I think this is probably not worth getting worried about. There is a large communal kitchen in the house, we were lucky enough to be sharing the house with friends and we had great fun cooking and eating meals in a big group. There is an excellent outdoor eating area and lovely swimming pool area. The staff (Mirella) were incredibly helpful. The only thing that would have been nice would maybe be a clean of apartment and change of linen after a week... but otherwize nothing to moan about. A real bonus is that they have a cook who can do dinners/lunches if you are feeling disinclined to do so and their food is fantastic!!!!

Room Tip: The downstairs rooms (apart from the Tore room) are bigger and nicer

We stayed in the Fallocchio House (Giallo apartment) for 3 nights as part of a Florence/Tuscany vacation. The location is great, halfway between Florence and Siena, a great 'home base' for day trips (Volterra, Brunello region/Montalcino, etc). Giallo is very extremely spacious and thoughtfully updated, it also has a private outdoor dining area. The Fallocchio House has a large communal kitchen with fireplace, ideal for families sharing the house or in our case with 2 people, more space to make a great meal or mingle with others staying in the house. The only thing that would have made it ideal is wifi - there is wifi at near the main farm (Carzanello) and it was not available inside Fallocchio, which would have been helpful as we planned and researched trip options online. Mirella was very hospitable and responsive, she gave us a great tour of the main buildings and we enjoyed many of the great wine and cheeses they produce there. We can't wait to go back!

This was our third stay in 12 months. Need I say more?
What makes it so special?
The location, just off the beaten tourist track, the feeling that the place is all yours, the dog that nobody knows the owner of, who diligently follows you on every walk you take, the friendliness and helpfulness of Mirella, the cheese tasting experience, the way the hills look in the dappled afternoon sunlight. Don't try to do too much, outside of focusing on three good meals each day!

We stayed in Casa Erta for 6 nights as part of a family wedding. Other family members were housed in Corzanello and Fallocchio – each house has its own character and beauty. As for Erta, the house was most comfortable, extremely spacious and sympathetically restored - it was everything we needed and more. We were blessed with magnificent weather and obviously have very fond memories due to the wedding itself, but the accommodation certainly played a big part in our enjoyment. The friendly service provided, the views, the easy access to the pool and the quiet location were all positives. Despite being surrounded by countryside and down the end of a dirt road, the accommodation also provides good central access to other parts of Tuscany – Florence was just under half an hour away, with Siena only marginally further. Dozens of quaint villages are within an easy drive. The only tip is that you really need a car to stay here. The accommodation at Corzano e Paterno is fantastic for large groups, families, couples and anything in between. We do hope to return one day.

My family (2 couples plus 1 year old) stayed in 'Gina' apartment consisting of 3 bedrooms, kitchen, dining and living areas. Views were beautiful. We also had very nice outdoor amenities to enjoy food and wine! Pool was very refreshing. This was a great place to enjoy the scenery and relax. Location was great for the many day trips we took. The wine and cheese was terrific! Staff were wonderful and very helpful. We had a delightful cooking class with Lucia and also arranged a 'welcome dinner' that she prepared for us. Both meals were exceptional. Would not hesitate to recommend this place if you wanted to stay outside city centers and enjoy beautiful countryside but still close enough to enjoy much of the surrounding cities.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Fattoria Corzano e Paterno unites neighbouring properties acquired from the historic Florentine families, the Machiavelli and Niccolini. Three distinct sectors complement each other: wine and oil, stables for sheep for artisan cheese production and agriturismo. The AGRITURISMO is comprised of four large houses positioned in pristine locations amid cypresses, olive groves and vineyards, views that have escaped the passage of time. Their restoration has maintained, with the exception of modern kitchens and baths, the original structures of beamed ceilings, open sit-in fireplaces and large, airy rooms. Situated in this classic Tuscan landscape, near fields of our grazing sheep, the houses overlook the verdant valley that lies between the two distinctive hills of the farm. CORZANELLO: With views of our vineyards on all sides, this house was once home to an artist whose atelier in the tower has since been converted into a bedroom. It sleeps twelve, has a large, roomy kitchen with a walk-in fireplace, a comfortable sitting room, six bedrooms and three bathrooms. In the garden there is a pergola for dining with a panoramic view of the valley. Nearby is the original functioning bread oven. Within a walled terrace also overlooking the valley there is an octagonal dipping pool; the larger farm swimming pool just a short walk away. GINA is an apartment in the oldest section of Casa Corzano. It is spacious and high ceilinged, set over two floors. The history of this house can be read in its ancient stone staircase and vaulted ceiling. On the ground floor is the kitchen with fireplace and a large salon with dining area. On the first floor two double bedrooms, one twin, bathroom with shower and bath and washing machine. Outside there is a private garden and the farm's swimming pool is a few meters away. CASA ERTA faces south, and has an uninterrupted view down the valley. It has been restored without compromising the large, high ceilinged rooms and beamed ceilings. It sleeps twelve, has a large kitchen with fireplace, six bedrooms and four bathrooms. Outside there is a large garden with pergola and pizza oven. FALLOCCHIO is a spacious house divided into five large apartments with one or two bedrooms, kitchenette, living room, bathroom with bath and shower. In the restoration of the house, the beamed ceilings and large rooms have been preserved. On the ground floor there is a large and well-equipped kitchen with fireplace available for communal use. The house is surrounded by a garden with a covered patio and barbeque and views across the surrounding valleys. ERTA and FALLOCCHIO share a swimming pool with panoramic views. Given the high quality of the farm's wine, olive oil and cheeses, it specialises in enogastronomic tourism and often has visiting chefs who are available to prepare meals and give cooking courses on request for guests in their houses if requested. ... more   less
