Visited the first time in the early eighties while traveling for business. Was so good that had to go back many more times during the years even if far from my hometown of Milan.
The food not only is fantastic, but most of the ingredients are actually from the property itself.
They produce their own Supertuscan Wine, own Olive Oils and vinegars, the best Chianina Beef on the bone you will ever have and an atmosphere so great that you feel extremely satisfied while tasting all the lovely concoctions on offer.
After all these years, it is still one of the best places where you can savour the exquisite food and wines from Tuscany

After a long day of visiting vineyards and hill towns, we took the advice of some friends and had dinner at La Nina. WOW what a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is beautiful. The service staff is fully bilingual, warm and friendly. The menu is near overwhelming with wonderful dishes to meet any taste. The food exceeded our expectations. Our small group (4) each had a different appetizer, 1st and 2nd course, and dessert. Everyone agrees that this was one of the real dining highlights of our 12 day trip to Italy.

Atmosphere is fantastic, waiters do their utmost to share their long experience and knowledge with chairm and humour. Zucchini flower as starter dish and scampi and truffles filet of beef made my visit and excellent experience. Clean and modern washrooms/toilet show that these guys take hygiene and comfort seriously!

Bravo!!

First be warned that driveway to this restaurant is very steep and winding and the turn in from the road is awkward. We finally ate here at the end of a six week sojourn in Tuscany. We had tried to get here previously but they were booked or closed. But it had such great reviews we persevered.
The restaurant itself is lovely and we did love being able to watch the chefs. But everything else spawns disappointing. The service felt slapdash, and our waiter spent lots of time speaking to the Italians at other tables, but we felt rushed even though he spoke English. The room is open and noisy. But most disappointing was the food. The appetizers were good (fried stuffed zucchini blossoms and Coquille St. Jacques). For the main I ordered the grilled lamb chops since meat seems to be a speciality and they grill them. They were pounded flat and then grilled till they were overdone and tough. The side beans were ok, the other main was guinea hen which was prepared with lard laid over the top which made the skin limp and salty. The food generally was over salted we thought.
We shared profiteroles for desert and they were good, but not good enough to make up for the mains.

I don't know why I am writing this review because, at the end of the day, I don't really want anyone else to know about this place.

My wife and I have travelled extensively around Italy and this restaurant is worth every accolade that is available.

Put simply, this was the best Italian meal we have ever had ... period.
