“Great Views and the best pool we saw in Tuscany”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We stayed during a bicycle tour so the rooms were secondary to the amenities , views and food.
The area is the best we saw from Florence to Sienna. Beautiful vistas and a quiet location. The room we had was part of a 2 bedroom up suite with a sitting room down. Our room was quite new looking as if it had recently been redone. The sitting area was large and suitable for cocktails , wine or reading if the weather is bad. The food in the restaurant was good but we went to Sienna for our best meal. The pool is outstanding . Great views, large , and in new looking condition. I would go back again and use it as a base to do more exploring,

We booked the (quite expensive) suite that has two bedrooms and a lounge area. Location and scenery is very nice, and the villa in which the suite is located is also nice. The pool area was a pleasure. However, the bedrooms are not very large and the shower is tiny, while the lounge area basically consisted of a couch and two arm chairs placed in the spaceous, well lit and otherwise empty hallway. It was not a very attractive place to sit and relax with friends, as we had hoped. Also, the hotel bar closes at 19.30 (while the notes in the rooms stress that is is forbidden to bring your own drinks and food, so they probably expect you to go to bed at 8 or go elsewhere). We did not try the restaurant as on both nights it looked completely empty at the beginning and end of the night, but had dinner in nearby villages. Free and unlimited WiFi was a plus. Prices for drinks at the bar were also very inexpensive. Breakfast buffet was okay, but staff was not always that attentive for taking your order for the off-buffet drink. In all a very nice resort, but value for money can be better. Probably better suited for families.

Dear Sir,

we thank you for your kind review but we would like to point out a couple of little things:

you wrote the rooms of the Special Suite were small, but we would like to explain to you that being located in an ancient and refurbished farmhouse cannot have the same size.
We changed the showers this year and now they are very comfortable and of standard size, therefore we do not understand your complaint about them.
In the lounge area you can find a sofa, a couple of armchairs and a little table where guests usually have drinks alone or with friends, and we would like to underline that it is possible to eat and drink whatever you like there, because the note you refer to concens only our public areas.
Anyway, we would like to remind you that you stayed in an accomodation which measures about 60 square metres totally …
However, if you would have told us immediately you were not satisfied with the room, we would have done our best to help you, suggesting you maybe another accomodation.

Concerning the bar of the hotel, it closes at 7.30 pm because that is the opening time of the bar at the restaurant (which closes at 10). However, it is always possible to order a drink at the bar of the hotel until Reception closing time, because the staff never say “no!” to a thirsty guest.

Finally, the restaurant seemed empty, but it was almost fully booked because dinner is served on the lovely terrace with view on Chianti hills which is not visible from the entrance.

We hope to have you as our guest again in the future and to meet your requirements, because one our first goal is to satisfy our guests in order to let them have a very pleasant holiday with us.

Villa Curina, a real relaxing oasis in Chianti with a great view of tocana scenery.
The Villa is a quiet and beutifull location, with very high standard of maintenance and service.
Rooms are large and very comfortable and swiming pool a perfect relaxing spot for those hot days.
The restaurant, agian a pearl of Italian food.
Great place for a couple relaxing holiday, close to beutiful Siena if you want some old town taste.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with view to the fields, not the road.

Our three night stay at Villa Curina was a relaxing and quiet time. After leaving crazy, fast paced Rome, and heading out to the Tuscan countryside, villa Curina was the perfect contrast! This hotel is a few miles from the nearest town of Castelnuovo berardenga and sits alone on a hill. The restaurant at the hotel is pricey and high end cuisine, but probably the best food on our trip so far! Super gourmet, and fresh local ingredients. Highly recommended if you can afford it! Amazing views from the veranda! The rooms here are traditional in decor, and oh so quaint with the windows that open out to the beautiful grounds. The website pics are true to form! Usually I don't trust the pics on hotels websites because they are exaggerated and only show the best angles. But the pics on this website didn't do the place justice! Gorgeous! The pool isn't heated but during our stay it was hot, so it felt great! The cabanas and lounging areas were fantastic! Very high class! Stay here if you want a slow paced relaxing time with beauty to surround you. Only about 15-20 minutes from Siena. Loved this place! Oh yeah, breakfast was good...loved that they had a panini press and cold cuts to make sandwiches! Buffet was fruit, breads, cakes, eggs breakfast meats and yogurts and juices and cereals. In town CB there is a pizzeria that just opened, good pizza and calzones at Very Reasonable prices! Ask at the desk.

Room Tip: We stayed in a 2 room suite with each a locking door and bathrooms...the room numbers were 316 and 3...

We stayed here as part of a Backroads bike tour of Tuscany. It was our 3rd and final hotel, and after 2 great places that were hard to leave, this hotel did not disappoint. The room was beautiful and spacious, with views out the front door (a garden maze), and out the large bedroom window (overlooking the terrace, vinyards, and Tuscan countryside). Very good service, beautiful pool and grounds, nice restaurant. We were sad when our wonderful trip ended. Oh, and the breakfast was excellent.

From the moment I walked into the hotel, I thought I could live there for the rest of my days... The hotel had a fantastic view, the most friendly staff and a very nice smell. It was authentic and peaceful. Our two-floor room was very clean and comfy. Though, the walls are pretty thin. We had some trouble sleeping when our neighbor decided to take a shower in the middle of the night. But that is the only negative comment I can make. Everything else was just perfect. If you go there, be sure to enjoy a cup of coffee in the front terrace and to buy a home fragrance that you like, I bought one for my room and it smells awesome.

My family and I spent 3 days in Curina. We chose this hotel because of its ideal location in tuscany and above all because of its calm. The room were very spacious and very well appointed. The service and all hotel's employees were really nice and helpful. The view on the tuscan hills and even on Sienna was fantastic. We stayed there in april at the very beginning of the touristic season. I can't help imagining how great it would be to stay in this hotel during summer. The hotel and its restaurant were almost empty but this didn't prevent us to have a marvelous time in Curina. The hotel was a good start to some visits in the neighborhood and its many great wineries.
Sienna's hills region is so full of little typical villages in the middle of wineyards. After Curina, we stayed in another region of tuscany not so far away from Firenze but the area of Castelnuovo Berardenga definitely pleased us more and convinced us to come back.
