Fiesta Hotel Garden Beach
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 26, 2012

Thank you to all the staff at Fiesta Garden Beach for being so helpful and friendly. We were delighted with our room which was a good size and overlooked the pool and gardens; we upgraded to a superior room and it was certainly worth it. The maids kept it very clean and tidy, and we didn't have to pay for the safe or the minibar which had beer and soft drinks and plenty of water. Only disappointment was that, in the actual hotel description, it is said that people in superior rooms have towelling robes and slippers, also iron and ironing board.. Not so! Only junior suites have these, but it didn't affect the enjoyment of our holiday and I was quite relieved to not have the iron since I HATE ironing. Beach towels are free and can be exchanged whenever you want.
The hotel and grounds were very pleasant and kept spotless, there are three pools shared between two hotels so you are spoilt for choice. We enjoyed walking through to have a look at the sister hotel but didn't eat there since we thoroughly enjoyed the food at the Fiesta. We went all inclusive and found it terrific value; I don't think I have ever eaten so much and enjoyed it all. The meals were buffet style and there was an excellent selection of food. The fresh fish was very tasty (if a bit bony sometimes) and you could have pasta cooked in front of you with your own choice of ingredients. If you wanted plain salads or meat and veg, it was availble but they did some wonderful salads with aubergines ,courgettes and octopus or calamari. The cheeses were to die for, and the puddings especially the icecream cake were wickedly delicious. I'm trying to get rid of the extra pounds but it was well worth it. I must mention the animation team who were lovely young people from all over Europe. We aren't joiner-inners so didn't participate but in spite of the fact that not many people were interested (it was on the whole older groups who went out on a lot of trips) they put their hearts into entertaining and were fun.
The beach was a mixture of sand and stones and it was difficult to get into the water but lovely when you managed it, dive shoes are the best bet. It could also be a bit rough probably because it was a bit late in the year. There was a lifeguard on duty at all times which was good.
In the hotel Brits were certainly in the minority but we found the other nationalities quite friendly so were surprised that others had problems. This is not the sort of hotel we would normally visit since we prefer small, quiet places but, at the beginning of October, it was ideal for us. We actually enjoyed it so much, we will probably go back next year.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are very good and well worth the extra.

September Arrived late after transfer from Catania just after midnight - staff welcoming and made sure that we had a cold buffet after checking in. Very pleasant room in main block by swimming pool. Sea was about 100m from the room and staff were all very helpful. We went for 1/2 board and found all meals to be excellent in terms of quantity, choice and variety.
The beach bar could have benefitted from a few more choices on the quick food menu, but the drinks were good. Definitely a must return place.

Room Tip: The rooms in the residential block were excellent and 1st floor kept us away from over excited guest...

The hotel, facilities, food, staff and room were excellent, couldn't fault anything.
It was the end of the season but the staff were all still happy and helpful (except for the poor woman in the basement shop !) and the beach, pools and even the adjoining hotel made the week great.
Not a place to go for a walk outside the complex because it is nowhere near anywhere but there is a shuttle bus to the Cefalu.
Overall very pleased and even the electric storm on the last day added a bit of excitement !!

Room Tip: Every room had a balcony ovelooking the pool.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday this is the place for you. We enjoy coming to this hotel because it is very good value for money. The weather in the first week of October was still very warm and we used the pools and beach most days. There are very big gardens to relax if you want a break from the pools. With a very good a la carte restaurant and two buffet restaurants to choose from, there is always a variety of different food available. Most of the food is Sicilian/ Italian with fish and meat available every day. The breakfast can be improved and our suggestion to the hotel management would be to serve real fruit juices and fresh made coffee with better pastries. Very good accommodation, cleaned every day. The staff are very friendly from the reception to the restaurants including bar staff, cleaners and porters. We now know most of them by name and they recognise us every time when we arrive. We always get a smile and a very good welcome at this hotel. We will be back next year!

Room Tip: Book your excursions with a local travel agency they are much cheaper and better. We use “Dami”, as...

Were here with my family between 20-24 September.
Mixed feelings after staying here.
First of all: it is 2-in-1 hotels here, which shares all amenities: Hotel Garden Beach and Hotel Athene Palace. Garden Beach is not selling single rooms, but Athene Palace does that. So you can go 3 persons, taking double room in Garden beach and single in Athene palace. Both hotels has restaurants, which you can use without a problem in both hotels if you are in all-inclusive. Common beach, common pools - all common for those two hotels.
We arrived late, so they offered a late dinner and wine, which was nice.
We was late, because to find this hotel is a tricky way, when you're driving with sat nav. There is a road construction near the hotel, and a new detour which both not on sat nav. So watch the signes carefully.
1. All inclusive - DRINKS = DISASTER. The first resort in 10 years with a such POOR All-inclusive. All the drinks in the bars a fake ones, they dont have even normal coke or sprite. All from local crap producers you can by in LIDL/ALDI. Only drinkable thing was a white /red wines. The rest: vodka, martinis, camparis, whiskey and especially "brandy" - don't even try to taste them - its really will gonna ruin your holiday.

2. All inclusive - FOOD = DISASTER No.2 The breakfast worth 1 or 2 star hotels with small selection of english breakfast (beans, eggs, rashers, sausages and tomatoes), horrible taste crepes, a coffee and juice mashines. That's all! Nothing else. Some of the B&B's in Italy offering wider choice of food for breakfast! Beach buffet during after lunch: microwave style "pizza", hotdogs, paninis - all of them from microwave with horrible taste. You can get better ones in Rome Termini railway station. Lunch. First BAD impression - serving only for 1hour15minutes. STRICTLY. The selection of pastas, few fishes, chicken dish and snacks. Overcrowded restaurants reminds social feeding place. Dinner. The worst part. The restaurants gets even more overcrowded, everyone madly running arround with emptly plates trying to find something tasty. The food selection pretty much the same like it was during lunch.
The only positive thing - is ar estaurant by the sea, where you should book a day before. Here is the only place where you can have a food without a hustle from wide choise menu, which is pretty much reflects local cusine. Respect for that.

3. Beach - DISASTER No.3 Rocky, stony beach, with unpleasant sand. Impossible safely to get into the water, you SHOULD use flipflops or something on your feet, or use wood pier for that. Positive thing - you can get plastic bed on the beach without a problem, the sea side is not overcrowded at all. The sea water itself was amazingly warm ant pleasant.

4. Pools - NOT BAD. You need to be hurry to get a place by the pools.

5. Animation - DISASTER No.4 - 1 hour program with stupid jokes, usually you need to laugh on the men-persons who scratching his balls, or trying to be a woman with big boobs.. Very annoing when during the breakfast animation persons interrupting your food, inviting you to join all-day animation program. So imagine, you are eating something with full mouth of food, when someone coming to you table, saying: "hello, how are you, can I explain animaton program for today?". It's like annoing agent selling useless stuff, rigning you at home late in the evening.
6. Reception - they trying to be nice and helpful.
7. Territory - nice big green territory, very positive point for this resort.
8. Place - DISASTER No5. - in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of motorway, far from any towns. No any shops around or restaurants.
9. Neighbours, customers - DISASTER No6. - most over 55-60 years old persons from Germany, France and UK. A few younger lads from Poland (acting very loudly).
10. Rooms. Bungalows are very small, smaller, than a rooms in neighbour hotel Athen Palace.
Free minibar in the rooms with LIDL style drinks (coke, beer, water) free for allinclusive customers.
Resume: OVERPRICED, dead place, with great garden, great pools, NOT ACCPETABLE ALL- INCLUSIVE and DISASTER TYPE of FOOD, nice presonal.
Will not recommend to any one who looking for quality All-Inclusive resort.

Room Tip: 1. Go for the rooms in Athen Palace - they almost all has a great viewe to mountains or garden. 2...

Great for young families as the kids club is excellent for up to around 12 year olds. Unless drinking at the bar, nothing much doing in the evenings for adults unless you get a car to Cefalu, about 20 minutes away which is a typically pretty Italian town - and a must for a visit during the day too. The Hotel itself is very pleasant, with courteous friendly staff - the food is very good and I would recommend the novelty of a fresh pasta dish made in front of you while you wait - delicious. The pool is great especially for little ones and there is use of 2 other pools at the sister hotel next door. 3 tennis courts are available and although not exactly centre court standard are adequate for a friendly game to work off the pasta!
We were there for a restful week which was perfect, any longer would have tested the boredom threshold. The Hotel is in a very secluded position with a stoney beach.
Negatives are no free wi-fi areas at all - only available as a chargeable extra in the reception area only. They have a main hotel and also bungalows spread through the grounds which are lovely - we had one room in each as there were 5 of us. The rooms are clean and fairly modern - TV has BBC News channel only in English.
If you are looking for a good value week away with almost guaranteed good weather with the kids, you could do far worse than stay here.

Room Tip: The bungalows are a slightly better option with no children.
