Maugeri is a comfortable hotel in the heart of Acireale. We stayed her for 2 nights to explore the Etna and surroundings.
The staff is very friendly and attentive.
The room is quiet and comfortable.
Dinner can be a funny experience as groups of travellers enjoy their dinner here as well.
Arriving by car can be time consuming in view of traffic; parking in the vicinity is almost impossible. However, Maugeri offers parking facilities in a garage and ...... free of charge!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the street side because of traffic noise

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a great experience! We had a quadruple room and it was spacious enough for 2 adults, 2 young kids. The staff was friendly, one young woman in particular named Juicy. The parking is good (in a gated area underneath the hotel). We had breakfast one morning and it was your average breakfast buffet. On the other mornings, we did as the Sicilians do and enjoy a fabulous breakfast at one of the cafes of yummy granita and brioche. The location is great...right across from a little park area and about 5 minutes walk to the cathedral. There are a lot of shops and eateries nearby. Acireale is a charming city and a good base to see Sicily. We went to the beach, Mount Etna, Siricusa/Ortigia. We will definitely stay here next visit!

Though comfortable, centric and appropriate for the price; simply far from 4 stars. The service lacks interest in the customer. Furniture (beds, matresses, couches, etc) is old and not inviting. We expected an oasis and a deal but found exactly what we paid for

Stayed for two weeks in Maugeri using it as base to tour the area by car. Worked very well.
Hotel excellent in nearly every respect. Staff extremely helpful, rooms clean and quiet,
and it lies close to centre of town and restaurants. Parking works well once you are used to
steep climb out to road. Only defect with hotel was food. Daily menu was repeated ad infinitum forcing us to eat out even when we didn't want to and buffet breakfast was uninspired and mediocre. Pity because this spoils what would otherwise be a super hotel
in a perfect spot for touring.

Our 2-day stay at Albergo Maugeri in Acireale was as a base for a trip to Mount Etna. We spent day one exploring Acireale town, while preparing and relaxing for our next day's Etna journey. The hotel is a lovely 1950s/60s building, beautifully decorated throughout and obviously a great favourite over the years with Opera and Theatre fans. It's a very organised and very well run establishment, with an experienced & polite cadre of staff, professionally caring for your every little need and impeccably ready at their jobs. The comfortable ground floor dining room has framed posters of the great Theatre plays, singing stars and Operas that have thrilled visiting audiences forever. Breakfast had all the usual comforts and delicacies. The hotel is not at all stuffy and luvvie-like though, being right up to date with Business, wi-fi and TV services, etc. Our rooms were very clean, airy, and neatly presented. A very handy underground car park is accessed from a side street, easily found by my sat nav. It was a pleasure to leave the car safely stored there during our walking 'giros' through the town. Lots of early morning market activity and nice little shops, a real haven from the Autostrade and the busy main roads. At night our rooms overlooked the tree-filled piazza, as everyday life passed by below. I took lots of nice photos from my window.
The overall feeling at Albergo Maugeri is one of relaxation, experience, customer care and professional hotel management. I loved my time there, and would definitely stay again, especially if planning another Etna trip. Thanks to all there for their help and attention.

I was sinking into a proper depression after only a couple of hours in this hotel. The rooms are big and clean but too dark. I was only too glad to check out and say good buy to this hotel. The staff was helpful and attentive.
