Located on a hill just above Santa Tecla (Acireale) the house is located perfectly for many excursions. Going up the impressive Etna, visit Taormina, Acireale, but also Catania and Syracuse. it's all in a perfect driving distance. (Esp from airport Catania, it's very easy to do, when you rent a car (a must when you go to Sicily) But we even went to Agrigento and had a great time there as well).
First of all Angela and Fabio are perfect hosts. They are very freindly and the hospitality is great. The house is very clean and well equiped and certainly worth it's price. Unfortunatelly we were early in the season, so the pool wasn't open yet, but we enjoyed the magnificent view over the lemongrove and the sea from the terrace, took walks through the 'botanical garden' and even went to the sea by foot, which actually was easier than expected, since the house is quite a bit higher than the actual village of Santa Tecla.
All in all we agreed Tenuta Santa Tecla has more to offer than a standard hotel, it's more of an experience and whenever I go back to Sicily, I will surely stay there again.

We visited Sicily to attend a wedding in nearby Aci Castello. Being completely new to the area we were totally clueless about where to stay and what there was to do in the area. Unfortunately even though I would consider myself an accomplished DIY traveller, I found it very hard to find muchy relevant information online. Finding accomodation was therefore a bit of a lottery.

Having looked at the area in detail and knowing roughly where we wanted to be, we opted for Agritourism, and the fact that Tenuta Santa Tecla was close to Aci reale, Catania and Taormina, had animals and a pool AND came in at a good price, swung it for us.

Being in a secluded location, Fabio (the proprietor) arranged to meet us close to the Hotel/Villa/Apartment and ghuide us in. This was a great relief, as the driving in Sicily was a stressful enough experience without having to Navigate narrow back lanes with no idea of exactly where we were going! ON arrival Fabio helped us with our bags to our room. We walked down the steps, past the amazing infinty pool and into our 2 room accomodation. The room - as with the rest of the hotel was stunningly designed with the most amazing views out to the sea. Fabio himself designed every aspect of the venue, and obviously has an amazing talent for it, as I personally could not fault anything.

Breakfast was wonderful. Sitting on the terrace, eating an array of local bread, pastries (cream filled croissant anyone) and local meats and italian coffee, whilst Fabio and his wife, Angela were more than happy to go out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed.

We stayed for 4 nights, and would have loved to stay for longer. Highlights include the view from the infinity pool (and indeed anywhere on the property) listening to (our own) music whilst enjoying some local beverages and watching the lightning across the water and of course the amazing breakfast.

I could not recommend this place enough to anyone who is looking for a relaxing break. Fabio and Angela have got everything right and in terms of value for money, I have not had better anywhere - ever.

If you are looking for a more quiet place, but close to Taormina, this is the jewel on the east coast! Big pool, with stunning view over the sea, on top of the hill of Acireale. The rooms are well decorated and all very clean and fresh. Nice breakfast is served on teh teracce again overlooking the bay of acireale. I can recommend this place to everyone who want to chill for a while, but close to all cities in the neighbourhood. We plannend to stay 2 days, but extender our stay to 5 days. Number 1 B&B in Sicily for us!
