Description: For centuries the otrantine coasts have been a crossroads of trade, battles, invasions and wealth. For centuries Otranto has accounted for all the West, a crucial point for the strength and wealth of its territory and its sea. Otranto, a town in the balance between faith and sea, between heaven and earth embodies all the wisdom of a cuisine of seafood quality. The story relives every day, and we know that Otrantini bring with you a piece of our heritage and our beauty. Here at Acmet Pascià, you will find all the strength that the sea gives us always. Our dishes carefully seek the origin of the flavors and the wisdom of traditional preparations, revisited without ever distorting its essence. We want to bring to the table our culinary tradition, is made of simple tastes but also sophisticated combinations and exaltation of taste. The fish is the raw material that you will experience and the one that always gives us life. Savour the taste of raw sea enhanced by the combination of a white wine from our extensive wine list, or first and second in taste and in various combinations. The desserts, then always reserve pleasant surprises being sons of the confectionery tradition of Salento. In short, go to Acmet Pascià is how to bring a bit of the sea of Otranto.

We were hesitant to go to the waterfront restaurants in Otranto, given the hoards of tourists they cater to. But our hotel recommended this spot, and my husband and I had one of our most memorable dinners there. Situated right next to the water, we had a beautiful table and our server could not have been more helpful. He arranged a risotto dish instead of pasta (based on gluten-free needs) and suggested an amazing fish roasted in sea salt. The wine suggestions was also a winner and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I would return in a minute!

Ordered mixed grilled fish with some pasta on the side. All we got was à small piece of overcooked tuna with 3 prawns (not fresh) not cleaned and very chewy. The pasta on the side was just plain with no seasoning, garlic, olive oil or anything. White house wine was also very bad...
Only positive thing was the great view over the harbour.
Avoid at all cost ! Tourist trap alert !

We decided to eat at this restaurant because of the view which overlooks the port.
We had eaten here years ago and knew it had a good reputation, even if slightly more expensive than other nearby retsaurants.
We ordered a few dishes that were good, but typical fare you find everywhere in that area. We saw an appetizer dish brought to another table and asked for a portion too.
Despite the fact that my husband is from the region, we felt that they cheated us on that dish, possibly because it was part of a combination appetizer and there was no clear price for it to be sold singuarly on the menu.
Frankly, the food itself wasn't any better than neighboring restaurants, but the view makes the difference.
