Luigi never gets tired to serve us a great variaty of fresh and seasonal dishes.
During our time in Gagliano del Capo the Re Sole is the only restaurant we go out to eat. And this has several reasons: We feel always welcome and the uncomplicated but personal service makes us feel at ease. There is no need to study the menu. Starting with antipasti del mare e di terra fills the table immediately with over ten different and delicious starters. So everybody can pic what he prefers but usually each plate needs to be evenly shared because they all taste great. Most dishes have deep roots in the traditional local kitchen but are skilful and sometimes surprisingly seasoned. Even eating there often we never get tired of the starters because there are always new variations and daily specials.
Only who is very hungry will manage to continue with primo and secondo. But the decision what to focus on is difficult. On the one hand there is home made pasta only the old aunt was able to kook so tasteful. On the other hand there can be chosen between several fresh fish. Choosing one of Luigi's daly specials is a good advice because he likes to experiment and one can discover new tastes - always created from few but well chosen ingredients.
Not to be forgotten the home made pastry created by the son of Luigi that perfects each meal at the Re Sole.
