We loved the house, airconditioning in the master bedroom will be added soon which is a must in this area. It is in the middle of "nowhere", but if you realize it is 10-20 minutes away from the very beautiful villages of Cisternino, Martina Franca, Ostuni, etc, it is a wonderful retreat. There is a bike- and runpath behind the house which is great (although some bycicles in the house would be practical). I can certainly recommend this beautiful villa for families of 8 people or two sets of adults with 4 children.

Our party of 9 family members had a fantastic stay at the beautiful Villa Santoro. The owner, John Dabney, was extremely helpful in solving some travel issues and helping us to find a chef to prepare a special birthday dinner. The villa is modern and yet magical with its "trullis"....conical roofs. The property is surrounded by olive trees and flowering bushes. Even though we were there at the end of March/beginning of April (off-season) it was beautiful. The villa is well equiped and we prepared yummy dinners each night. Every day we explored a different medieval hill town and also drove over to Basilicata to see the amazing cave town of Matera. The Villa Santoro is just the right place for a family gathering that results in beautiful memories that we will all share.
