Went on a lovely day with the family. The sun was out and nobody around, we had just missed the influx of people from the Easter holiday. It's a beautiful hidden gem with some fantastic views on the drive over to the bay.

The hike up to the top of the hill with the ruins is worth it. The views are stunning and when the sun is out, it's lush.

Definitely recommended...

Keem bay is one of my favourite places to visit in Achill. The beach is beautiful and clean and on a sunny day the water looks like something you would see in a brochure.
I am also a keen fisherman and the beach is great for fishing from with a good verity of species to target.

This bay is a relatively unknown gem along the coastline of Ireland. Honestly, it can look like the Carribean, even in September if the lighting is right. You won't believe that something like this exists in Ireland when you see it for the first time.

Achill island in County Mayo is a treasure and a delight. It is completely unspoilt and the drive to Keem Bay is awesome, stunning views. Wonderful walks. I would recommend staying in a cottage overlooking Keem Bay, listening to the sound of the ocean and sitting by a traditional peat fire in the evening is just the best way to chill and relax. IA glass or two of Guinness in a local hostelry is also recommended.

This beach is one of the prettiest in Ireland but the drive down is scary. On one side there is a sheer cliff with no guardrails to be had. The drive back up you must drive very close to a cliff with the road barely big enough for 2 cars but I believe any type of "upgrade" to the road would destroy the natural beauty of the beach.
