“Beach Front Services and staff”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

We decided today to visit this part of the city to go swimming and unfortunately this beachfront hotel to use one of their loungers and umbrellas. While the place had more than 80 sets of loungers, we just picked a nice comfortable one at the front row. As soon as we sat down, a sleepy, out of place waiter came to inform us that we had to pay an extra 10 euros for the umbrella on top of whatever we ordered to drink or eat. We thought, why not..fair enough..! Before we even uttered a word he then said.."oh...ahhm and this set is actually reserved for hotel guests as well..". Clearly, there was no sign indicating this, plus, beside us and in all directions they were youngsters that clearly looked like they did not belong in the so called.."exclusive" club of hotel guests.
We thought ok..fair enough..again..."where can we sit please.." He pointed to another set of loungers and umbrellas divided by a gang way, where "you didn't have to pay for the set"..and a specific set of loungers in the 2nd row from the front. As soon as we walked towards that direction, he came again, to tell us that this was also reserved for hotel guests and we could sit further back..! Now let me tell you...by this point..my patience had really started to ran low, but since we had already walked about 2 miles to reach this point, in the heat, and quite de hydrated, we decided to not let this clear.."discrimination", "lack of tact" for some reason..and definitely rudeness to ruin our day. So, we sat down where he was happy for us to sit down. A few moments later, there came another couple, that clearly were not hotel guests and sat on the loungers in front of us, where we had previously attempted to sit. The waiter came by and having guessed our thoughts said.."oh just wait..I'll ask them to move else where too"..!
Well...he took the guy aside...told him something..and the guy just came back and sat in those very chairs..! The waiter then comes back and says to us..."well I know what you're thinking...but they happen to know the boss..so I can't do anything..!
What kind of pathetic excuse..clearly a filthy and dirty lie was that...I leave it up to you to decide..! I was fuming by that point..! As if this was not enough..towards the end..the waiter went and whispered to the guy, (thinking I couldn't hear him), .."oh by the way..if this guy asks you how come you sat there..just tell him that you knew the boss.."...!
I don't know about you readers..but I could not let this go easily, not without writing this review and shouting out how terrible the staff are trained, their luck of service and tact towards customers, (in house or not). What could clearly be a nice beach front resort, with a great beach and clear waters, clearly the management of this so called "establishment", has so poorly instructed their staff about what is true customer service that they do not even worth the one star I'm giving them. If there was an option for no stars...that clearly would have been mine..this is how terrible and angry they made me feel..! Beware...this place will judge you by how cool or hip you look before they even let you sit on their beachfront...if they only knew....!!!

Pros : big rooms, grounds are clean, there is a spa, pool and beachfront. Fun to stay at.
Cons: showers don't have doors. And the service is not too good . Worst of all is the old lady with gray hair at the front desk. She is VERY rude and disrespectful to the guests. She pretty much yelled at us during check out because we wanted to pay with 2 different credit cards . The man who work night shift told us, "you can definitely pay with 2 credit cards." Very inconsistent. Then telling us " We are lucky to have gotten the rate we got for our room." Ive never had anyone be si rude as the older lady was at check out!! Someone raising there voice at me when I am paying hundreds of euros a night for a room, does NOT make a pleasant vacation experience!!

A beautiful hotel campus with very high quality on all architectural details. Rooms were well kept and breakfast was a treat every day. Staff was very polite and service minded, both children and adults were well taken care of.

If any improvements needed it may be to introduce better mattresses and down pillows in the beds, maybe set up a small gym facility and if possible reduce parking on the lawn in front of the rooms,

However, these are minor details and is not necessary to have a very pleasant stay.

A quite nice location right next to the forest and the seashore at the same time-about 5 mins by car to Xylokastro town.

Quite friendly stuff, high quality service even at busy times with only very minor delays or reasons for complaint and that's coming from a quite demanding person so don't really take my word on this last one! Decent spa with a good selection of services. Overall, quite good service, very nice sight, tranquil and relaxed atmosphere, good service at a very decent and understandable price.

On the negatives there is no water boiler-coffee/tea maker in the room. Also, there could be a small bus service to Xylokastro town and maybe some sights nearby. A small gym could also help.

Highly recommended if you re travelling by car and want to see parts of Greece or for a very nice relaxed long weekend.

Room Tip: Sea views are always nice however if you want a more quite environment opt for a room with views ove...

A very nice hotel just 90 minutes from Athens. Very nice location, very stylish minimal design, double sea view big rooms, beach just 10 meters from your room, exceptional facilities including a spa. I stayed for the weekend and it really helped me relax. One of the greatest hotels I have ever been with high value for money.

Room Tip: ask for a double sea view room ;)

The hotel is very new and very stylish and well positioned just at the beach of Xylokastro & next to the small forest.
It is a brand new establishment with a SPA/Sauna/Hamam! Ideal for families with young children.
On the plus side the hotel rooms are clean and spacious and the facilities, despite having to book for them excellent.
The staff on the other hand do not live up to the standards of the hotel.
Despite having to pay the price of a 4 star hotel, on top we had to pay for the coffee in the breakfast.
Also they operate the "breakfast area" as a small bar at nights with excellent view at the sea at nights. The drinks offered there are costly (9 Euro for a cocktail) and they dont even brink the casual peanuts with them! (even when you ask for it). And the staff think it is appropriate to start preaparing for breakfast even when the bar area is half full!!!
Additionally the breakfast is.... poor especially for a hotel up to these standards! Last the hotel is open for external visitors but the people working are not capable to handle the extra "traffic" for the extra visitors.

In all our experience was average with an excellent hotel (as establishment) and... amateur staff (the people at the spa are excluded)!

Room Tip: ask for rooms with sea view! It worth the money!

Last summer I stayed five days in this hotel. I had the best vacation of the last 10 years.I enjoyed the sea, the service, the facilities and the food.It was delicious. I would like to go back this coming summer. The location is perfect for people who live in Athens and want to take a short trip.
I would stay there the whole summer If I could.
