“Never Again”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We are a young couple with an 8-year old child and we chose this hotel based on good reviews of other travelers and recommendation by TripAdvisor. The hotel was awarded for excellence in 2013 by TripAdvisor. The reviews praised good environment for families with kids, excellent food, entertainment activities, beach... However, IT WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The food was terrible: tasteless, poor and the same selection of dishes. The beach is located below the complex and sunbeds are charged. But, you have to reserve them in the evening for tomorrow because there isn't a sufficient number of them. The sea is full of grass. Rooms are average. Bedsheets and towels are changed in three days. Outer air-conditioning device drips and floor of the balcony is always wet and slippery. You can't sleep in the night because teenagers stay long at the volleyball court and make noise. Cleaning ladies start cleaning early in the morning and make big noise. The village itself is boring and without a decent payment to have a walk in the evening because the entertainment in the hotel is terrible.
Definitely, there are better places to stay in Sithonia for the same amount of money, with more beautiful environment and beaches.

We have been 8 romanian families ( all inclusive all of us ) in July 2013 at Sonia Village , and we had a great time here! Due to the fact that they are well organised , the check-in took us just a little.
The rooms were very clean , cleaning ladies changing towels daily . The food was good and the waiters are kind and smiley , even though the food could have been a little more variety . Furthermore , the sea is nice & clean , a good place to choose. There are plenty of entertaining stuff to do at Sonia , and the new animation team is great ! They know what to do and how to make little kids and adults cheerful .
Moreover , he all inclusive service is very comprehensive, they did offer much more than I was expecting , but still I didn't find the logic in having the bar opend untill 12:00 and the all inclusive service only untill 10:30 ...

On the other hand , we all had a great time at Sonia Village !

Great ! We can not find the right words to describe how pleasant was the holiday spent here. We (6 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 kids) left the site with a pleasant taste provided by the people from Sonia village hotel, starting with the maids and finishing with the owners themselves. The beach, the restaurant, the rooms... everything nice and clean. The menu very diversified and for all tastes. The personnel in the restaurant very friendly , active and diligent. The pool and sport grounds, the place for children offered us the best place to recharge the batteries. We are sure that it was our first experience here but not the last one.

We just arrived from Greece (family with 2 little kids) and I can say that we have wongerful time thanks to Sonia village hotel in Gerakini. Gerakini is a small village and offers you nothing, but if you staying in Sonia hotel you don't need anything else. When we arrived young man from the reception took 5 or 6 keys of all available family rooms and studios and opened it for us, doesn't matter they was in the same building, on the same floor even one next to another, he wants to show us everything and give us chance to choose room with best sea view! From that moment we knew that we pick wright place for our holiday.
Rooms are wery clean, they are big enought with a large balkony or direct entrance on garden(family rooms).Cleaning ladies change towels daily if you need and they are doing their all job perfect. Our room was 208 and we was 10m far from the restaurant and cafe Sonia, 15m far from the pool and play ground and 30m from the beach.
hotel beach is sandy with sun beds and umbrellas, but there is part of the beach where you can put your own umbrella.we were all inclusive guests (right side of the beach ia reserve for AI) and we have free sun beds and umbrella (10e deposit and you get your key with number). If you get key number 65-70 yuo are going to feel like you are on private beach with your own part of the sea, especially number 70, last one, where nobody can disturb you and your kids can digg pools, build sand castles, splash, laugh, without disturbing anybody. Other guests can rent 2 sun beds and umbrella for 3e.
Food are very good, different every day, and you can choose between 10 salads, 5-6 meals, fish, meat, mousaka, pastilico, macaroni, potato, corn, fruit every day, ice crems, all kind of juices,coffee,tea,milk...We were lucky and we had 2 barbeque nights.
Pool area is great, everyday at noon was organized aqua gym and next to the pool are play ground for kids, basketball, volleyball and football court and indoor kids club with animators. Every evening kids had mini-disco and after that animation team organized thematic night (games, quiz, Greek night, fakir show...).
We have been in 4 and 5* hotels in Europa and Africa and we can say that Sonia offers the best you can get from 3* hotel and if you from your holiday expect swimming, relaxing and fun for your kids this is great choice for you!
SO, Sonia, thanks for everything, and thanks to everybody in hotel, especially IVANA from the bar, and SOFIA and ANDREAS- our kids really enjoy spending time with you!

Room Tip: Studios 201-209 are on the ground floor and have best location.

Three years ago we were looking for a family hotel in Greece suitable for families with small children when we were offered Sonia Village Hotel by a travel agency. Although it was offered to us in a kind of discrete way, we decided to give it a try.
And it was worthwhile! We had a truly wonderful family vacation.
Sonia Village Hotel is situated in a quiet location on the Sithonia Peninsula, 40-45 min. drive from Thessalonica or an hour and a half driving distance from the border which is very convenient when travelling with children. In addition, the location is ideal if you like to explore other places on any where on Halkidiki. The resort is meticulously maintained and has everything you need: family rooms especially suitable for those who prefer to have a feeling of a garden, nice clean and spacious rooms, safe parking place, swimming pool, kids and sports playground, a restaurant with food of good quality and quantity and for everyone’s taste, café bar for refreshments during the day and for entertainment during the nights, and above all and for the pleasure of the youngest – a half an hour mini disco almost every night. The beach is right below the resort and is like a private beach for the hotel quests, so we feel safe and the kids feel free to exploit the summer games.
Both the owners and the hotel stuff are polite, highly professional and at disposal for any kind of request or information. They are highly organised and the hotel runs smoothly and under perfect control.
We have been spending our summer vacation in Hotel Sonia Village three times in a row and we are looking forward to returning again this summer.

Great choice for a family holiday with young children. Rooms are cleaned every day, the food is excellent and very tasty. Beach is correct and is just below the hotel. The hotel is in a good location if you want to visit the most beautiful beaches of Sithonia and Kassandra.
The hotel is three star but I think this resort offers more of the hotels in the same category as Greece is concerned. This primarily refers to the spacious rooms, the food was very tasty and varied handmade, entertainment for children and evening entertainment that is also different every night.
Hotel owners, and in particular I emphasize Mrs. Georgia, are very friendly and willing to help and also all the staff is always on your service.
Great value especially if you choose al inclusive service. This is the very good choice if you want to relax, enjoy and have a good time. All the best recommendation for this hotel, we and our friends have wonderfull vacation in Sonia Village Hotel!
