This orangey sandy beach is graced with some unusual rock formations and 2 shallow rock pools. It seems to be a major landmark of Lixouri (there it was - in every postcard of the area) and a favourite hang out for the locals. There is a permanent beach volley net on the beach and the lovely, purposefully old fashioned, Lepeda Cafe serves drinks and Ouzo with meze (appetizers). The rock pools are a hit with toddlers because, although they are shaped by the rocks, the sea bottom is sandy and not rocky. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for hire, running water to wash of the sand from your feet and a very shabby changing room. The beach got really busy towards the end of our holiday in the beginning of August, but in July it was great. It's major plus is it's only 2 K from the centre of Lixouri, therefore you can cycle or walk there if you don't have a car, and it makes an ideal, very pastoral hike. (Just try to avoid the hot hours of the day)
