This hotel is near the beach Petani, another precious gem in our hotels collection. Silence, privacy, tranquility and space. We admired the beauty of the sea, rocks, the balcony and of great, clean pool. Grounds are very well maintained. The room we had was gorgeous, spacious, stylish. With stunning, high, wooden ceiling. We liked service staff-considerate and caring. Special words of gratitude for wonderful Voula. She's friendly and always ready to suggest and talk about all interesting places on the island. Great breakfast. It's perfect to watch the sunset from the hotel. And dining with some delicate music and candles , far away from the tourist bustle.
We loved it! Already dreaming to come back!

Room Tip: Junior Suite Executive Sea View very nice and spacious. But I think that all the rooms are good

This was our first trip to Kefalonia and we consider ourselves very lucky to have found this gem of a hotel. The whole hotel and it's grounds are immaculately well maintained, you are spoilt for choice with the outside space, there is a large, clean infinity pool overlooking the crystal clear waters of the sea just beyond the cliff below with another level of decking containing day beds and deck chairs immediately below. Add to this the outdoor bar area with sofas and comfy seating and you could easily find peace and seclusion.

The owners add a great deal of character to the hotel being the most welcoming and enthusiastic, they were a good source of information on where to go and how to get there (avoiding certain routes closed due to the February earthquakes). All the staff are very attentive and discreet. This is not a stuffy hotel but a warm and friendly place where Greek hospitality was at its best. Yet, it still managed to maintain an air of class and exclusivity.

The hotel easily caters for all types of holidaymaker where families with young and older children easily mixed with couples of all nationalities. It is only a short drive to the beach below and a car is essential to get around the island. Most guests seemed to go out on various day trips so if you did decide to stay around the pool for a lazy day, you essentially had the place to yourself. It is a relatively remote location but quite easy to get out and about once you get used to the hairpin bends!

The breakfast was very good, all freshly cooked, prepared and well-stocked up. The kitchenette in the suites is not exactly well equipped but we never had any intention of cooking for ourselves so this was not an issue. The hotel restaurant serves a decent and varied menu with meals occasionally topped off with a complementary shot of home made liquor shared with the owners! However, we particularly liked going down to one of the tavernas on Petani beach of an evening to have some fresh fish while watching the sunset.

The suites are very nice, with air con and ceiling fans, retractable mosquito nets across the windows etc. The beds were also very comfortable and as a family of 4 with 2 teenagers we took a larger deluxe suite with a separate bedroom so there was plenty of space. There was only one bathroom which was a bit tricky but not really an issue. There is also free Wi-fi in the public areas including pool and all suites - essential when travelling with teenage kids!

Overall, a very good hotel, slightly off the beaten track but well worth the trip. Oh....not forgetting the owners' dog, Sandy, who is a delight.

My wife and our 3 kids aged 13,11,9 recently had a fantastic week at Petani Bay hotel. The hotel has a fantastic location overlooking the Bay with great views from pretty much everywhere. Despite being full the hotel never felt crowded and we always pool beds/loungers and a lovely table at the restaurant. The terraces offer lots of options for reading, sunbathing and chilling and all have views. The breakfast is fantastic lots of choice and all fresh with options for everybody. The evening food was the best we had on the island with lots of mezze dishes and such a nice change from the general taverna fare. The room suite was very comfortable with fridge, hob etc - a bit tight with three teenage kids (perfect for 2-3 younger kids) but very well equipped and spotless and lovely views from balcony. The beach itself is lovely very safe and clean and 2 minutes away but you need a car as it's a steep walk ( I did it once ). Three decent tavernas for lunch and dinner as well. The service at the hotel is amazing. Everybody is very friendly and super efficient and nothing seems like too much trouble from the owner managers To the waitresses to the maids. The owners are super helpful in arranging anything you need and advising on trips and things to do and see. Overall I can't complement the hotel and it's staff enough and we will be back for sure !

Room Tip: All rooms great but upper floor ones have better views

Even the most casual reader can quickly pick up the gist of this hotel by scanning a dozen reviews: the warmest of welcomes, a drink, a smile . . . and then the view.

Our stay was no different. In room 104 we were staggered at the size of the suite, awed by the views (better from the pool area though) and humbled by the constant flow of unprompted iced waters while we sunbathed. Even a potentially minor gripe - when the price of a happy hour cocktail was marginally quibbled over - was resolved satisfactorily.

We only stayed two days on a whistlestop tour of the island, but enjoyed it tremendously. The road from the airport is around a 50min drive, or a boat trip from Argostoli cuts that in half. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: 104 was excellent, but I believe they all have sea views. I think 105 would offer the very best view...

We were in Kefalonia first one. In Petani Bay Hotel we spent one week. It was something so wonderful and fantastic, we have no long experienced. Voula - owner of the hotel was great, as well as the hotel staff. They do for you everything that they see on your eyes :)
We had rented a car, so we put on board Voula and visited the most beautiful places on the island.
And there we saw the most beautiful setting sun, almost breathtaking sunset really charmed us.
Certainly on this hotel we will return, perhaps after three years, when we have a wedding anniversary with my husband.
Once again many thanks for a fantastic holiday.

We have arrived in Petani in the early evening, the manager Voula has introduce herself and offered as a drink, a eza beer for me, it was awesome and so relaxing drinking a beer in front of the Petani bay. In the meantime someone has driven our car to the parking and moved our luggage inside the room.

The room was awesome, three windows, ceil fan and A/C. We have never used the A/C because the room was always fresh due to the perfect climate and building quality. I have never sleep so good in all my life.

The room is also full of personality, with very comfortable paints, sofa, and all the thing that make you feel like home or better. It was always very clean.

The pool area is gorgeous, with the infinity pool that seems a paradise.

The staff is always very kind, and helpful especially Voula that has introduced to us all the better place of the island spending at least 45 minutes with us.

The Breakfast is very good for all the tastes, with typical greek food and continental food as well. All the things are very fine and never obvious like the artisanal tea and the village yogurt.

The only thing I can suggest is to improve the coffé quality, because as I am Italian I will prefer an real espresso (that is available paying an extra) instead of the filtered coffé.

So If I will need some very relaxing week, I will came back to Petani for sure.

Room Tip: We were staying in the sea view junior suite, it was awesome, but I thing also the pool view were ve...

We stayed at Petani Bay last year, almost a year ago, and from the moment we arrived we felt the owners took every effort to make us feel special. The hotel is in an idyllic spot, high above Petani Bay, with wonderful sunsets and a fantastic infinity pool. We were travelling without a car, getting a taxi from the airport, but the lovely owners were willing to drive us down the hillside each day to the brilliant Petani beach and collect us. Heartily recommend this for anyone who wants an independent experience rather than the homogenised, packaged hotels that are usually on offer.
