We parked in the official car park some distance away from the King's Chair site and walked through the cool beech woods to our destination (there is also a shuttle bus for those who don't want the exercise). Given the unusual heat we were grateful for the shade and it was a great walk for our dog. The site itself was some how disappointing. The views from the platform at the edge of the white, chalk cliffs are superb and shouldn't be missed. But we were disappointed that there was very little else there to justify the relatively high entrance fee.
