We parked in the official car park some distance away from the King's Chair site and walked through the cool beech woods to our destination (there is also a shuttle bus for those who don't want the exercise). Given the unusual heat we were grateful for the shade and it was a great walk for our dog. The site itself was some how disappointing. The views from the platform at the edge of the white, chalk cliffs are superb and shouldn't be missed. But we were disappointed that there was very little else there to justify the relatively high entrance fee.

This is an area which is mainly visited by Germans but it is well worth the detour if you are on Rugen. Imagine the white Cliffs of Dover meeting Californian forests to give breth-taking views.
If you go to Victoria point you don't have to pay and get a great view of the Koeningsstuhl before making your way down to the beach.

I would definitely recommend the hike-in from the parking lot. You have to pay for parking but the hike is very well marked and the trail is more like a dirt road. It's shaded from the sun and has some great points of interest along the way. The Koenigsstuhl was pretty good and worth the entry fee. It was very breathtaking and the history behind it was interesting too.

Interesting visit with personal headphoned guided tour in your own language, certainly worth a visit.

Loved the view from the bottom of the chalk cliffs. Also here is a center where you can go in and experience the nature and learn how it developed over the years. Headsets available in many languages. A little bit of problem if you walk too fast from one area to the next inside, because the headsets are sensitive to where you stand and sometimes the narrator would break off in the middle of a sentence and start talking about the next scene.
