“Dated Accommodation”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

We have stayed at this site before when our children were much smaller, 10 years ago or so. I was surprised to see that nothing had changed in relation to the decor. The accommodation was dated and not that clean either. I can't understand why the so called pillows were more like a small settee cushion? A great deal of maintenance is required. For example the pool had slime on the tiles and we could see lots of mould on the paintwork in the area of the pool too. We also found food to be over priced for what you are getting. Families go to places like this in order to save money but we ended up sell catering due to the cost of meals in the various outlets of the complex.
In all not good value for money when considering what they charge for a short stay.

Room Tip: Do not stay here unless you are in a newly renovated bungalow.

We choose the all inclusive package for our Eastern holidays, definitively a good choice. Center Parcs was one of or best family holidays ever!
We recommend it for all who have children and want to have a nice time in a family-friendly place with a lot to offer.

Room Tip: Try to stay near the "center"!

Our first time at Center Parcs and we were not dissapointed. Booked a comfort cottage which was bright and clean, pretty basic (no oven?) but fine for a weekend away... gave us an excuse to eat out every evening :) we paid extra for a lake view but shouldn't have bothered, we probably would have got one anyway and ours wasn't as good as I had hoped, you had to stand at the window to see it.

Swimming facilities were great, we have a baby and toddler and they both had a great time in the water, plenty to keep them occupied, little slides etc. Not enough seating around the pool though, so we ensconsed ourselves in the cafe area and just kept ordering coffee.

We enjoyed other family activities like the bowling but it is expensive.

Resteraunts and cafes were good, great with kids offering basic family favorites... pizza, pasta, chips etc. Plenty of high chairs and little kids play areas. One resteraunt even had a microwave and baby food available for you to use free!

All in all a great weekend, we'd happily go back.

Located in the middle of a forrest each cottage has direct access to their own little forrest and is at max 30m from one of the smaller lakes in the complex. The rooms are of high standard and the nature is breathtaking. We were in a standard VIP cottage, after seing the house boat or Three house options that is probably what we should have done. But nothing to complain about. Do rent a bike as distances are high and cars are not allowed. This will also give you some good trips. The aquadome is included and is the main attraction in the park. Mostly targeted younger kids for which it is excellent. But with a few ok slides and a good outdoor pool that was excellent even mid october. Besides this you find an indoor playground (and several smaller outdoors) All other activities are paid for and rather expensive. ( We didn't try them). Decent food in the center, but the kids loved the buffet so we went there three days. In the area (within 15 minuttes) you find the heide park which is certainly wort a visit as well as Soltau Designer outlet, RS Gokarting and ofcourse the Snowdome in Bispingen. All in all plenty to do for a good vacation !

Center Parcs - Bispinger Heide – Germany.
At their homepage it looks very interesting and fashionable and child friendly, so we decided that this was the place for a week vacation with the kids this summer. Not cheap but child friendly. Luckily we happened to pass by Bispinger Heide before the summer holiday and decided of cause to have a look at all the goodies.
What a disappointment.
The houses are all what they claim, but everything is scaled down to small size; even the beds are narrow. The houses appeared very dark and dull and boring.
That is not the turn off. The real disappointment was the surroundings and the environment. The whole area is covered with very tall and shading trees, many of them fir, pine and spruce, which in our opinion gives a dull, dark depressing feeling. There was no place for sun at the houses due to these shading trees.
Now to the interesting part: Cancellation. Science we decided on route to our next destination, that the Bispinger Park was a No-No for us, we contacted them by e-mail. Return came an answer, that due to technical problems, it was not possible to communicate by e-mail. There was a UK phone number to contact. So we did, and after a long talk, the Center Parc lady told us, that we had to communicate with their department in Germany, and she gave us a German phone number.
This was of the type where you get some noisy music and every two minutes a voice tells you to hold on. When we finally got through, we were lucky to have a germen speaking receptionist of our hotel to assist us. She was a bit chocked of how rude the Center Parc person treated her, but she stayed calm and finally got Center Parcs to understand that we did not want to make use of the offer they had given us. Just to make sure, that life was not easy, they demanded a letter – in German – explaining the cancellation – and sent to them via fax.
Do you think this is a recommendation?

We spent a week in a Original Vip cottage. The cottage has everything you can think of, including nice touches like a sauna, a huge bath room, fully equipped kitchen, flat screen tv, outdoor barbecue and the little stuff like a trollye for groceries. Everyday we got fresh bread and a german newspaper. All cottages are very good situated with lots of privacy down to a lake.
The stay includes lots of activity and a huge indoor water park. The focus for the resort is mainly families with young children
Only bad thing about the stay was the food at the resort. It's just really bad and overpriced. I highly recommend dining in or at Bispingen instead.

Went to this resort with my family. Most of the experience was really good, however the Original Comfort cottage we lived in was a bit worn. Also, upon arrival, all the carpets had been cleaned and were still very wet. Unfortunately, they did not dry out for the 5 days we stayed there, so we had to endure getting our socks wet all the time. On top of this, some of us caught a bad cold from sleeping in the humid conditions. We complained about the carpets, but nothing happened...
