Seligenstadt is a really nice old city with a lot of history and typical buildings but I suggest you find another hotel to sleep. There is nothing wrong with the staff. They are great and understand their job (some of them could smile a little bit more...). The small rooms are oldfashioned as well as the bathroom. The shower was broken so I had to hold it in my hand to get wet and I had difficulties standing straight up in the room.
In the morning I woke up at 6.30 because of the bells of the church so maybe you need to ask which room you need tot take by your reservation.
Breakfast is poor as well.

It's time for them to invest some money because the environment is great.

I stayed twice at this hotel and very much enjoyed my stay. It has a very good restaurant and am looking forward to staying there again on my next trip to Seligenstadt. It has a lovely terrasse overlooking the Main river and the local ferry (which doesn't run at night.
Seligenstadt is a very pretty wooden framed houses town (in the old part)
The rooms wee confortable and clean. The stairs are not steep which helps me as I am disabled.

This Italian-owned hotel is situated on the river, on the edge of the wonderful old town - a splendid location. Our room was rather spartan but had a fine view over the river and was spotlessly clean. The veranda is superb, the restaurant offers excellent Italian food and they welcome cyclists (you can park your bike safely at the back).

The owner is clearly a perfectionist. We wanted a quick cappuccino on the veranda on arrival but since it had rained they were not too keen, explaining that they would be obliged to put a white tablecloth on the table, otherwise they would get into trouble with the boss (but they did put on the tablecloth and we got our coffee). Similarly we were refused tap water in the restaurant lest we catch something (this is Germany, not China!)

The restaurant is really very good and the hotel boss, Guiseppe Balducci, sings for you - which might or might not be a plus, depending on your point of view and taste in music. Breakfast is also good. The restaurant / breakfast room is designed so that nearly all the tables are by the window, so everyone gets to enjoy the view.
