For several years, now, I have regularly visited Hacienda, when I visited Prien am Chiemsee. The first time, shortly after they opened, was out of curiosity, because I wondered just how good could a "tapas restaurant" in Oberbayern can be. The second and subsequent times have been, because I learned just how great this "tapas restaurant" in Oberbayern really is.
They are open only for dinner (open at 6:00pm) from Monday to Saturday. The menu is really nice with varied latin delights. Also, there might be a few specials on the board, when you visit (get the calamari, if they have them ---- they are to die for!).
However, the best dining experience is to order some wine, have a few sips while looking at the menu (including tapas), and then walk over to the showcase and look at the daily offering of tapas. Mark the item numbers of the tapas you want on a piece of paper, hand it to your server, and then get ready for a wonderful dining experience.
You'll be hooked!
In warm weather, there is a nice, large terrace with several tables. However, I must tell you, I actually prefer dining at Hacienda in winter inside. The dark, warm wood and earth tones, with candles on the tables makes for a great atmosphere.
I visit Prien am Chiemsee a couple times every year, and Hacienda is a dining must for me.
