We celebrated our family reunion here with about 20 people. The staff was very friendly and made us feel at home. We had several little kids and they provided toys, warmed milk, kids menus and were very tolerant of the boisterous energy of kids. The rooms were mixed. Some of the rooms had been updated and were very nice. The rooms right off of the main stair case were a little more dated, but were still clean and comfortable. The rooms facing the main street got a fair bit of street noise (although it's a tiny town so there's not much noise at night).
The hotel is also a winery and restaurant and many people visit it for those purposes. The food was delicious offering regional and seasonal specialties (hearty German cuisine). Their Silvaner wine was also quite good. The 2008 vintage has been so popular that they are no longer selling bottles of it - only by the glass in the restaurant.
They have a really cute courtyard with tables under a big chestnut tree as well as a gallery that fits about 30 people for functions. We were able to have the gallery room for our dinners so we had a private room for our family.
Prichsenstadt is a cute, old village that has been beautifully restored. The Hotel zum Storch is a great location from which to explore both the village as well as the surrounding Franken wine region.
