We found this little gem by chance while on our German Road trip. The rates were reasonable, and when we asked if there was parking, the owner said "yes!" and proceeded to pull his car out of his private space onto the street so we could have his place!
We were in desperate need of a laundromat, but when we asked the owner where there was one in town, she just said to give it to her. I told her it was a massive amount (pretty much everything in our packs!) but she wouldn't let us say no. I assumed we would be charged for this service but when settled the bill they hadn't charged us a cent! Freshly laundered clothes waiting for us in the morning was such a treat!!
We decided to stay there for supper as they had been so kind to us, and are we glad we did. I ordered pork chops and when they arrived I swear the plate was the same size we would put the Christmas turkey on!! I think there was about 4 full chops, along with all the fixings of potatoes and veggies. My boyfriend had schnitzel, and alomst a year later he still goes on about how that was the best schnitzel he's ever had! A free shot of ouzo (the owners are greek) to end the amazing meal was appreciated also!
The room was big and the bed was comfortable. You're right in the town and just a few blocks from the river so lovely for litte walks around town. Our only regret was this was just a passing through night and so we were off in the morning. But the hospitality of this lovely couple made it a place to remember! Thanks so much!
