We stayed here in winter on a long ski weekend with friends. Chalet is warm, secure and very well equipped with modern kitchen appliances, a fireplace in the sitting room and spacious modern bathrooms. We especially enjoyed the balcony and the views of the valley. The location is great, in a peaceful setting, but also close to the centre of Les Houches. Les Houches itself has its own pistes and you are also just a short drive into Chamonix with its huge ski area and shopping. Highly recommended.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Grand Chalet Mont Blanc, and it did not disappoint. Easy to find, right behind Chalet Du Bois as stated and just as described inside. Lovely views from the balcony, and if you don't fancy sitting directly outside, the french doors open up nice and wide allowing you to be inside but get the lovely fresh mountain air.
Beds were very comfy, bathrooms very clean and modern (hairdryers provided - always a bonus!) and plenty hanging space for clothes.
We went in late spring and walked up to Parc Merlet straight from the front door. Would definitely go again in Winter, just a short car journey to the lifts.
Super U is a 5min walk with everything we needed, and a lovely little bakery the other way for morning croissants and fresh bread.
Chamonix isn't far by car and has great cafe's, restaurants and lots of shops. It was really nice to stay in a quiet, relaxing, homely chalet, and have a busier town not too far away.
Can wholly recommend Grand Chalet Mont Blanc as a great place to stay.
