“What a find”

What to say about A Puntos..... It made for a fabulous holiday, superb position, fantastic views (weather permitting), lovely pool and gardens and everything in the farmhouse as we would have hoped for, clean, great facilities, but with the character retained that the building deserved. We expected a lot from the photos we were sent and weren't disappointed in any way.It was a perfect base for exploring the area, we made Biarriitz this year and also the train through the Pyrenees from just outside Artouste, as well as lazy days by the pool.
Wonderful, attentive yet unobtrusive hosts, ably assisted by Mirren made for a memorable and relaxing holiday that we fully intend repeating. Superb.

“Perfect Puntos”

My wife, 20m old daughter and I visited A Puntos for 10 days at the start of June.

We had an amazing break- the property is beautiful, a really nice blend of traditional and modern. Very nicely appointed bathrooms, bedrooms are large and comfy, the kitchen has lots of everything you need and everything works well.

The grounds are fabulous- the Pyrenees are about 30 miles away, and you get beautiful views of snowcapped mountains from the swimming pool- when we arrived the pol was a perferct 28 degrees, and we spent pretty much all day in it.

We hadn't used owners direct before, and were slightly nervous of sending cash to people- however Graeme, Colin and Jane could not have been more helpful and friendly and I was very confident that everything would be as hoped for.

you will realise as soon as you arrive at the property that this is very much a family owned property in all the best ways- everything is clearly clean and well looked after (my daughter particularly loved the collection of teddies in one of the bedrooms). As we hoped our deposit was returned very quickly once we returned to the UK (in fact Graeme was chasing us for bank details!).

The house was immaculately presented when we arrived, and we had no complaints at all. We have already recommended the place to a number of our friends.

In terms of geography the house has one neighbour (lived in by the owners), and sits with about a half acre of grass and garden. There are very very few other properties near by, and you very occasionally hear a tractor in the distant- otherwise you are left ciccadas and birds- its beautiful.

Things we recommend:
Local markets
The Bakery in the square in Trie (perfect croissant and bread)
The veg shop next door
Chez Gorka in Trillac for a lovely, child friendly, but very good quality restaurant (cost us E55 for 2 adults + one child, 2.5 courses and small amount of alcohol)
Cirque de Gavarnie- about 2hours away past Lourdes but WELL worth the travel
having a BBQ in the evening on the veranda followed by an evening dip

I suspect there is an awful lot to do in the local area, but to be honest the house was so nice we just stayed there!

“A great base for a long weekend skiing”
Reviewed April 2, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We stayed at A Puntos for a few days as a base to explore several ski resorts in the French Pyrenees. The house is set in an idyllic rural setting. The large gardens overlook wonderful farmland views, stretching away to the mountains in the distance.

The house is spacious and very comfortable, with everything we needed to make our stay hassle-free. Indeed, we arrived late in the evening, after the local supermarkets were shut, but the owners had left some food and drink out for us. Really thoughtful.

We would certainly recommend a stay here. A great place to get away from it all.

“An enchanting villa with amazing views”
Reviewed October 27, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We enjoyed a wonderful week at A Puntos. It's hard to speak highly enough about this quaint, authentic French farmhouse. It's set in its own very large gardens with private pool, and has been beautifully refurbished without losing any of its original features. It's also very well equipped - probably the only villa we've rented with Alessi cutlery and Villeroy and Boch crockery! With beautiful bed linen on the beds, great wifi connection and a lovely terrace to have meals al fresco, we came away feeling fully recharged.

There are typical small villages with boulangeries, boucheries and supermarkets about 10 minutes or so drive away, and larger towns like Auch, Tarbes and Pau are 30+ mins. Travelling north, there are beautiful villages and towns worth a visit. We flew into Toulouse and the drive was about 1 hr 30 mins.

We found the house and location a very relaxing and de-stressing experience. From the stunning views of the Pyrenees by day and the clearest star-leaden skies at night, it makes for a really enchanting and memorable holiday.

“Wonderfull, truly relaxing holiday.”
Reviewed September 19, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We stayed at A Puntos in August 2013 as a family of 5. We had such a fantastic time, in a truly idyllic setting. The house was charming and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook up all the goodies bought from the local village markets/shops, which we frequented every other day.

The pool area was great, just what was needed for us all to cool off in the afternoons. The garden space is massive and well set out. Being bordered on all sides with large hedgerows meant there was plenty of space for the kids (8 & 5) to run amok and have adventures. Both the pool and garden space offered fantastic views of the rolling countryside and on a clear day, views of the Pyrenees.

There is plenty to do and see in the surrounding area, but a car is essential to access it. Trie sur Baise (10mins by car) is the closest town and had everything we needed in terms of bakers/butchers/etc and a well-stocked supermarket (Intermarche). We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Pau, well worth a visit and a pleasure to drive to.

The owners were lovely, very helpful and able to respond quickly to any queries we had. We had a truly relaxing family holiday at A Puntos and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

“A True Hidden Gem”
Reviewed July 29, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

A hidden gem of a farmhouse on the outskirts of a small hamlet not far away from Trie Sur Baise.
We spent a truly relaxing nine days in this fabulous property that was presented to a very high standard with some very personal finishing touches. The pool was fantastic with spectacular views of the countryside and the mighty Pyrenees. The house had everything that you could possibly need for a holiday with a lovely big kitchen that opened onto a veranda at the side of the property, ideal for eating out and sitting watching the stars late into the night. The farmhouse is ideal as a luxurious space for a couple and would also suit a family or a group of friends. I would highly recommend A Puntos as an ideal holiday destination for a 'get away from it all holiday' We would love to return in the near future.
