“Exceptional service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014

We stayed at Les Aubuns for 4 nights last June. First of all, the location is great: in the heart of the ''Midi'', half an hour from many great attractions and a 15 minute drive from lovely Nîmes, Les Aubuns has a great country charm. Clean rooms. Cozy outdoor pool area. Just absolutely charming. What differentiates this place from other has to be the exceptional service. I cannot even tell you how many times Manon went out of her way to make our stay a special one (Kept our wine in her fridge, Connected the main lobby TV to the internet so we could watch WC games, prepared food when the kitchen was closed, refused tips (!!!). She was a fantastic host and constantly went out of her way to keep us happy. Although not perfect, the overall value and quality of service make this place a no brainer. Strongly recommend if you are traveling in the area.

We had the pleasure of staying at Les Aubuns for 3 nights and ended up trying to stay even loger since we loved it so much. As Canadians we are used to impeccable customer service and this is what we got at the gorgeous hotel! Refreshly friendly and polite staff/owners showed us the true provence charme! Room was big (for european standars) and very clean, restaurant was amazing (have the tuna with foie gras!!!), breakfast more than fair for 10€ (kids eat for free!).

On top of the familly-like atmosphere, great food and charming hotel, the location is perfect. 25 minute drive to chateau neuf du pape, saintes maries de la mer, nimes, uzes, pont du gard, ...

I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a charming true "provence" feel with north american service standards!

Btw they have the cuttest little dog that your kids will love!

We are here for two nights at the start of ten days in the south of France. We arrived to a friendly warm welcome by the owner ( who we later found out is also the chef). Our family room is clean, the beds really comfortable and the bathroom equipped with a great shower as well as lots of towels and toiletries. The pool is large with lots of sun loungers as well as two fantastic hammocks. pool towels are provided and changed at the end of each day. We ate in the hotel's restaurant Saturday night. Although not an extensive menu the food was of beautiful quality and tasted wonderful. The restaurant is closed for lunch and dinner on Sunday. We didn't want to have to pay for two taxis, one to take us out for lunch and one to take us out for dinner so decided the big bag of crisps we had brought with us would suffice for lunch. However the owner offered to order sandwiches from another family members restaurant and go to collect them for us- totally beyond the call of duty and very much appreciated. We were then able to enjoy a really tasty sandwich ( think fresh crusty french bread, rocket salad, sun dried tomatoes and creamy brie!) by the pool with.a glass of champers from the hotel bar- bliss! The breakfast has lots of choice and is served on the terrace by the pool- a great way to start the day! This lovely family run hotel is outside of nimes and without a car you are reliant on taxis (cost about €22 from nimes to hotel) but this suited us fine. Nimes is close enough to visit and is a lovely old town to walk around but it's great to return to this hotel in the countryside and enjoy its tranquil location and relaxing ambience. We would definitely return here and recommend it to others.

Friendly people, service good and average breakfast. What was quitte disturbing was the look of everything, broken things, and everywhere sports on the floor covering. One three words: just not clean!

Room Tip: quiet, but that depends on the room you have

We decided to stay here based on the good reviews on Trip-Advisor, so were slightly surprised to get a sour faced welcome from the lady at reception who told us that our rooms would not be ready until 2pm, we knew this and were not phased, however she continued to insist pointing out on our reservation printout where it said so. We later discovered that this lady was the owner.

So much for our welcome. We were helped (with our heavy cases) to our first floor room by a member another of staff who was helpful and polite

The hotel is tastefully decorated in a country style and our room was well appointed and clean, the bathroom is modern and a good size. The bed was comfortable so we were pleased with the overall accommodation. The hotel also has a restaurant ( closed Sunday, also the bar) and a large pool with sun-loungers and towels provided.

Our first night was Sunday so we drove into Nimes to a restaurant the hotel owner recommended; which was excellent. The next night we ate at the hotel. My wife is lactose intolerant and we informed the owner when we booked a table earlier in the afternoon.

The menu was a short selection and the food was well presented but while good had nothing more to recommend it. When it came to dessert we enquired whether something without milk/cream could prepared, we were told that the menu was the menu and the chef would not make anything else. We asked if it was possible to do something, and were brusquely told that it was not possible and this was without the waiter even asking the chef.

The next day when checking out we told the owner that we were not impressed with the attitude of the restaurant staff, she replied that we had seen the menu when we booked the table and that was that!

A good hotel, although they need to work on their people skills; but don’t expect too much from the restaurant which we felt was overpriced to boot!

We spent 4 nights here. Good location to visit Arles, Avignon, Nimes and the coast. The pool was great for the kids, the restaurant was very good, and the room was nice. Although the staff was great (they even did our laundry) it would have been nice if they were around the pool/bar area more.

We had an early flights from Garons airport (well 0935) and didn't want to get up too early. We arrived about 530pm had a nice swim (great pool), a fabulous meal (perhaps our best during 10 days in France - the local white wine certainly was (Saint Cecile 2011)) and a comfortable nights sleep for the four of us (children 5 & 3). Not v. cheap, but v. good value - including the breakfast. Highly recommend.
