Auray and its old port 'Port de St Goustan' is a highly recommended place to visit if your enjoying a holiday in the Morbihan area of Brittany.
Every Monday morning there is a lively market that winds itself around the center of Auray where your find all sorts of local foods to try, fresh fruit, arts and crafts.
In the old port of St Goustan there are loads of great restaurants providing some great sea food or traditional crepes where you can eat alfresco beside the river watching the world and his wife walk by.

After a great lunch the coast is just an additional 10-15 minute drive where you can enjoy le grande plage at Carnac or see the world famous Carnac stones- Brittany's answer to stone henge.
Top tip: for parking at St Goustan follow the signs for St Goustan once you enter Auray, after crossing the river, turn right at the round about and follow the road up the hill. At the top your find the cemetary and a free parking area where you can walk down to the old port in just a few minutes..
