Do not expect much - and when I say "not much" I mean: don't expect: hot or even warm water in the shower or the high praised jacuzzi (are you kidding me? A"bathhouse" with two public bath tubs a.k.a. “Jacuzzis”, but no warm water?). Also don't expect towels, soap or toilet paper in your room unless you ask for it about three times (and even than, they only bring you towels, without knocking, the toilet paper and soap never arrived!)
No cleaning of the rooms for the entire stay, no gas for the in-room gas stove, no silverware in the kitchenette, nor pots, pans or china. No TV, Telephone, or hairdryer (I can live with that) and not even one (!) hook for your wet beach towels in the whole “resort”. No diet soft drinks, and every meal you have to order one hour in advance (yes even the scrambled eggs for breakfast and no, ordering the night before doesn’t help – they start when you sit down and need one hour in every case, even when you are the only guest!) although they only have 4 entrees on the menu on evenings: chicken, chicken with onions, meet grilled or with fajita!
It’s like booking yourself into a youth hostel, but with two person rooms (I have to give them that) and three free meals a day – starting at 50 bucks per person per night.
Even with the “all inclusive” they try to screw you over and tell you on the last of your four-day-stay how THEY define ‘all inclusive’ (not included in there definition for example: appetizers, desserts, side dishes, coconut, ice cream…..)
On the positive side: the facilities and the beach are very nice, the staff at least tries its best (although they are very slow, unless the owner who lies in his hammock 24/7 orders something via walkie talkie – than you can see them run) AND we where allowed to bring our 2 puppies, we didn’t want to give in boarding in such an early age (but even here the owner made clear that he expects us to “keep them in the closed concrete backyard of our room all day”).
Recommendation: if you don’t have puppies, try the “Decameron” half a mile down the road. For only $20 per person and night more you have the full service of an all inclusive resort, and not only the cheap knockoff of an “beach property owner turned into wannabe hotel mogul”
