I can not recommend Tent With A View Saadani enough. I can not think of a single fault. The location is stunning, the hospitality and attention to detail surpassed anywhere else I have been. The National Park is beautiful. Every single person is working it seems just to make your stay perfect. The tented bandas where you stay are luxurious. Food was superb. A special mention goes to Natalia who runs the lodge with expertise, generosity and has a huge passion to really live life. Also to our guide, Francis, whose knowledge of the National Park, its wildlife from the minutiae to the massive was outstanding, he made sure everyday was full of wonder. If you want to go on safari, where there are no crowds, no problems and days full of magic, go here.

“Unbeatable”

After decades of travelling and holidays this was easily the best.
Perfect in every way. An experience not to be missed. Splendid isolation on our own beach with the sounds of the animals and the sea to keep us company.
Accommodation, food, service and friendly, knowledgeable staff made this a holiday to remember forever - excellent.
The bonus of a Maasai warrior to accompany us along the beach back to our Banda after a 5 course evening meal under the stars was a great touch and certainly impressed my wife!!
What the hotel is doing for elephant, and other conservation, and what they are doing by putting so much back into the local community is also highly commendable.
All in all a faultless holiday.

The beautiful, isolated setting, the amazing people, funky rooms, great food, great laughs and really cool safari - Tent with a view has it all. Best stop on our honeymoon tour bar none. Couldn't recommend the place more highly. Go there & try a tinotastic while youre at it!! Linda & Ciarán

Room Tip: Venus honeymoon suite is tops if you can get it. Bath in the jungle!!

We were picked up from Dar as Salaam airport after 2 flights and around 14 hours travelling by taxi and then travelled for a further 4 1/2 hours to A Tent With a View. The roads out of Dar were poor and extremely busy but comical in the way the locals drive, however we did stop on the way near a school where my wife distributed colouring books, paints, pens and sketch pads to the local kids who absolutely loved them, their smiles said it all. On entering the National Park the roads got considerably worse. Eventually after passing through villages where extreme poverty could be seen but also happiness on the faces of the locals we arrived at our destination to be met by 2 Masai Warriors in full regalia including stick and bush knife. They were very friendly and Michael spoke extremely good English and was also the cheeky one with a good sense of humour. We walked down a sand pathway to be met by Natalia who manages everything, a highly professional and very likeable lady. (Ask to see her photos as she is very well travelled and an excellent photographer). We had a drink and was told by Michael about the area and facilities, water from the well and solar power for all electricity, very Eco conscious. We were shown to our accommodation which meant walking along the white sand beach with the Indian Ocean to our left and our Banda on stilts to the right nestled beautifully amongst trees and the beach, absolutely stunning. The Banda had a large comfortable bed, settee, the shower sink and toilet were in a separate area leading through a door at the back, everything made out of local materials.
The staff could not be more friendly and attentive, the food was plentiful and very good but with no choice except for vegetarians etc.
The safaris were unbelievable with excellent guides/drivers and thanks to both Chris and Francis for their knowledge, experience and passion during the game drives of which we tracked down elephant, giraffe, hippo, crocodile baboon and monkeys to name but a few. The monkeys and bush babies sometimes joined us for breakfast and dinner.
The beach although beautiful was littered with plastic bottles, old flip flops and general rubbish which apparently comes from Zanzibar however Natalia along with local schools is trying to do something about it, the sea was the warmest we have ever swam in just like bath water.
We would recommend that you take a torch as it is pitch black outside of the buildings, wear comfortable shoes as it is all sand beneath your feet at all times. If it is possible it would be a good idea to fly from Dar as Salaam to Saadani airstrip about an hour away from the resort as this would make the final part if the journey easier.
A once in a lifetime thoroughly enjoyable experience and once again thanks to Natalia and her fantastic team to help make this happen.

What an amazing place to stay.
Location, location, location. The bandas on the beach were unique places to stay. They had comfortable beds with mosquito nets and large bathrooms. A very impressive through draft built up during the day so ventilation was not a problem. Would have been great if the room had another power socket for charging things, purely for convenience. Hammock on the porch is a welcome addition.
Salt water in the sink and the shower, drinking water provided for free.
The beach was idyllic and virtually empty, welcome breathing space from real life.
Security was taken seriously and whenever it was dark there was always an escort to guide you back to your banda, be this Michael and his Masai or the wildlife guards with rifles.
A wide range of activities are on offer at the lodge - game drives, canoeing, boat safaris, walking safaris. A really unique thing is the tower which the lodge owns. This is a four storey building in the middle of Saadani national park. It has great views over the bush, the staff were excellent and it was a great experience to stay there overnight.
All the guides were knowledgeable, engaging and focussed on guest experience at all times.
The boat safari was also excellent, anchoring the boat and eating a packed lunch surrounded by 20 hippos was one of the most memorable moments of my life!
The food at the lodge was glorious. Plenty of variety and well thought out menus. Cocktail of the day was always welcome after a hard day's game spotting.
The absolute best thing about Tent With A View was the staff. To a (wo)man, they were all absolutely great people. They could not have been more accommodating or friendly, numerous dietary requirements/preferences were always catered for, sometimes at exceptionally short notice. Our beloved guide Tizo was with us from start to finish and genuinely did everything he could to make sure we saw all the animals we wanted to and that we had a good time. We could not have asked for more from him. Apart from a honey badger sighting.
It was a sad day when we left, we genuinely felt at home amongst our Saadani family.

I went here as part of a package and it was spectacular. The staff were attentive & nothing was too much trouble - your every need and wish was taken care of. Having the bandas on the beach was wonderful; to sit on your veranda and look out across golden sands & blue water. The bandas were comfortable and spacious. The food was delicious and the nightly cocktails were very tasty.

The staff were very knowledgeable & it was a great surprise to find Maasai warriors here; they were amazing.

Although game was sparse every effort was made to spot the animals and actually it was lovely just to be out and about driving through the park with its diversity of vegetation.
I can’t really add more as everything that has been said in previous comments says it all.

Don’t miss out on this little quiet jewel.

Room Tip: You will need a torch to see your way back to your banda at night, although you are escorted to &...

We had a wonderful stay at Tent with a View to start our holiday off in Africa. There is a quick flight from Dar es Salaam that takes you to the landing strip at Sedani. We were then picked up by staff from Tent with a View and taken directly to the hotel. The welcome was warm with a cold flannel and a lovely cocktail, we were delighted with our banda on the beach.

The safari experience is amazing, we saw plenty of animals including a leopard which is quite rare on any safari. The safari guides are really friendly and knowledgeable - they go out of there way to give you the experience that you are after. We even had the amazing experience of seeing turtles hatching and making our way down to the sea. The beach is clean and in complete isolation. It is like waking up on your own desert island.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are open windows (with mosquito nets) which allows the breeze to keep you cool. There is a balcony with a hammock and they are all just a short walk along the beach to the main lodge where food and drink are served. The food is excellent and consists of a 5 course meal every night. This was the best food that we had on the entire trip in Africa. We were amazed at how good the food was.

The highlight of this place is definitely the staff - by the time we left we felt that we were leaving our friends. They are attentive, friendly, interested and knowledgeable. They really do make you feel very welcome and are so pleased to have you come and visit them. We travelled with our 7 year old daughter who loved the experience and was very sad to leave. The staff took care of her (and us) so well. We will most definitely return!
