“Impressive place in the middle of nowhere!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We came with our own car from Bagamoyo for 2 days trip. It took us 3 hours to reach the hotel by crossing the Saadani National Park. The hotel is 6km north to the Madete Entrance Gate of the park. The hotel is perfect, we were few guests only one family and us. Traveling with 2 babies 18 months and 4 months, all the staff was there to help for each and every need!
The first day we decided to stay at the hotel lying on the beach but the staff told us that lions have been seen in the park so we took the car and 20mn later we were observing 3 lionesses. We then spent the afternoon on the beach! Really unique!
Dinner is very nice with 5 courses very original and tasty. During the night the sky is crazy full of stars as there is no light around! Waking up in the morning with the sound of the waves and the birds is a must. Coming back to Dar Es Salaam we stopped for a 2 hours boat safari organized by the hotel: hippos, crocodiles, birds by hundreds! Our trip was too short but really amazing. Thanks again to the all the staff. I am sure we will come back soon!

If it is luxury you want look elsewhere. If you are looking for a safari lodge miles from anywhere set next to a beautiful beach- excellent food - cheerful attentive staff - comfortable clean bandas - then this is the place. We loved it. The bandas are set about 2-3 metres above the sand with a veranda facing the ocean. The furniture is a bit quirky - mostly made of varnished driftwood - the toilet roll holder is a piece of wood with a branch used as the roll holder.Absolutely charming.,The room is kept extremely clean. There is a water bath at the foot of the stairs so that sand is not brought into the sleeping area. The food was a revelation - very impressed. Safari trips to Saadani are well organised. We would go again.

Room Tip: Not all bandas have double beds. Number 4 does and we believe that the honeymoon banda doews as well...

Tent with a View was one of the most beautiful places ever. The white sand beach stretches for miles of uninterrupted nature along the warm, blue water of the Indian Ocean. The permanent tents are lovely and the front porch is complete with lounge chairs and a hammock. We walked to the main area for each meal barefoot in the sand and the meals were outstanding. I would hightly recommend the scrambled eggs with white cheddar cheese for breakfast and the 5-course dinners were delicious! At night, if the sky is clear, the stars just pop. The staff is warm, friendly and hospitable. Can't say enough!

We began our safari trip by spending a few nights in Tent With a View to recover from the journey and rest up before the real safari began. It was an excellent idea. The accommodation is really luxurious and the setting is remote and so very beautiful. One of our happiest memories is of walking back to our tent after dinner in the pitch black night with the most amazing starry sky above us. It was really romantic. The food was delicious and the service excellent. The safari was nothing to write home about but it gives you a taster for what is coming, assuming you are off to a bigger reserve or park. I would highly recommend a visit here.

What a holiday. Jules Verne have found a treasure here. Wonderful location fabulous food and helpful friendly staff. We were looked after so well, nothing was too much trouble. How the staff managed to serve 5 tasty courses every dinner time amazes me. The safaries were great and Kita our guide managed to track all the animals that we wanted to see. Couldn't believe it when our boat got stuck on the Wami river Kita and boatman jumped in and pushed the boat free-helloooo crocodiles!!! Our Bandas was lovely, large and comfortable if a little dark when getting ready at night to join the other guests for dinner in the lovely restaurant on the beach but then who needs makeup in the bush. Loved the rustic bathroom with the old tree branch used as a toilet roll holder. After a safari what better to do than have a swim in the sea although a little warm twas still refreshing.

This is great. Hats off to David Guthrie who operates this beautiful glamping experience by the sea. He's obviously an animal nut who loves his elephants. Saw plenty of those as well as giraffe. its not exactly teeming but probably comparable with the numbers I once saw in the Kruger. 5 days here good for anybody's soul. Lovely atmosphere. Book it through the Adventure Company for a half decent deal.

We stayed here for 4 days as part of a VJV Safari and it certainly did not disappoint. The accommodation in individual elevated bandas was very comfortable and spacious with a verandah overlooking a white soft sandy beach and the beautiful Indian Ocean with verandah furniture and hammock. The food served at the steps away restaurant was lovely but the excellent and ever smiling staff made for a truly memorable trip. Michael, Francis, Augustino etc. were so efficient. Our Safari guide Hassain was a truly exceptional guy and my husband named him Lion King for his efforts to locate lion which he did as well as everything else you could think of and he was exceptionally knowledgeable and tireless in his efforts to please - a very hardworking individual. The location of this safari camp is truly exotic and the air trip from Dar Es Salem amazing. Could not fault all the staff at Tent with a View.

Room Tip: Rooms as close to the main lodge/restaurant are the best.
