If you want to do a sailing adventure in Guanacaste and are not a fan of the crowded party boats, you have got to make your way to sail with Captain Jack and crew on Surfari! What a fabulous experience! Jack is very friendly and will make you feel at home. They sail north of Santa Rosa National Park, which provides an incredibly beautiful setting for a sail. Jack has found a protected area to snorkel that gave us calm waters and lots of fish. After we snorkeled, Jack’s wife prepared an amazing lunch that may have been our best meal in Costa Rica. Fresh fruit, chicken tacos with incredible flavors. Cold beverages. Wow!
Surfari’s boat is a true sailboat, which is always a thrill when the wind cooperates and they can turn off the engines and let the wind do the work. So peaceful! Should mention that we missed the turnoff to the Dreams resort and nearly reached the Nicaragua border. Realizing our mistake, we rushed back to the turnoff and were slightly late for our departure. Jack met us on the beach and welcomed us aboard. It turned out we were the only reservations of the day, so ended up with a private excursion. No idea why he isn’t sold out?? This is a must-do! Highly recommend!
