“Enjoyable”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Our first overnight stop on our touring holiday, first impressions on arrival was good, cabin style units within landscape grounds in a quiet area adjacent to the lake. A friendly welcome at reception
and a suggestion that if we required dinner in the restaurant, was to book as there was a touring party in. We were allocated a ground floor apartment which had glass doors leading out onto a veranda looking over a small pond, the room was comfortable with a large bathroom with underfloor heating if needed. There is ample car parking facilities for each apartment. Our dinner was a very enjoyable fine dining experience with a wonderful selection of wines. The next morning we had breakfast a little later due to the restaurant looking a little busy earlier, the breakfast was very good with lots of choice.
We had a very pleasant stay at Peppers, all the staff were friendly and helpful.
We would definitely stay again.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed on my life . The beds are so soft as if there is no spring beneath. For a 2 bedroom apartment , there is only one toilet for my family of four. When we called the receptionist to ask for an extra towel, she actually asked "you mean you have finished using all the 4 towels?" In the end, the towels never come. When we purchased the wifi it cannot be logged on at all. There are better accommodation around the vicinity. Would encourage those who are going to lake tekapo not to stay there . By the way, you can't park your car beside the apartment. We have to lug our luggages about 100m to reach the vicinity.

I would rate it a decent stay. But the lake seems a tad too far for rooms with lake view.
Arrived late as made a detour to Akaroa from Christchurch. Went to the front desk for checking in at 8+pm and found a tour group waiting thus it took a little longer than usual.

Our room was quite a distance from the main building housing the front desk and cafeteria, and a short walk from the car park. Entered our first level room and luckily it is clean and comfy enough. Everything works as it should be.

As we missed dinner while rushing from Akaroa, we quickly settled down and went to the front desk to try asking for alternative as the cafeteria was closing but he seems unsure which diner in the village could still be open at this hour.

Checking-out after 2 nights stay went on rather well. Had to wait for a while as the only staff there was handling another customer. She is busy but at least she acknowledged my presence by informing that her colleague will attend to me shortly.

Not a bad stay but no pull factor for me to stay with them again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were as described with great views of the lake and surrounding snow capped mountains. For the price it cant be beat... The staff were friendly and the manager was very helpful. Highly recommended for the discerning traveler in this photographic paradise. Thanks very much :)

We stayed in a hotel room with wonderful lake view. Very spacious with bathtub and two sinks. However, one of the sinks were not working. Overall, ok, but steep price to pay. Reception was in training and stuffed up the rooms but was sorted out eventually.

We stayed here for just one night to visit the observatory on a night tour. First, we had booked 2 rooms and only one appered on their computer. They did upgrade us to a "villa" on the 2nd room. The regular rooms are tiny. They have everything you need, except room to walk around. Located near places to eat and sight seeing. Front desk staff appear to be young and inexperienced. Our "villa" room was OK but the beds felt like they needed to get new ones.

Room Tip: Villas are bigger than regular room. Also they include a sleeper sofa in living area.

Kia ora vacationON,

Thank you for your recent review of our resort.
We apologise for the issue you experience on check-in, but are glad this was able to be quickly resolved for you. We do have a very young reception group, but they are very passionate and driven, and are really enthusiastic about providing warm, genuine service to our guests. We are thrilled to be able have a number of staff who have grown up in the Mackenzie region, and have an affinity with this unique area.

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Sincere regards,

Recently my family and I attend a family wedding, the Hotel room was correctly discribed as very small, but for an overnight stay perfect, clean tidy and well equipped with everything you would need. We had a great time until I went to pay, as the wedding was on we had a bar tab the night before which had a few drinks charged to it. On settling the account there was just a bar charge (fine) "can I please have a breakdown of this" not an unusal request you may think. I was told this was not possible I was surprised and asked well how does it get billed to the account then surely there are the charge sheets? Receptionist went and asked the F&B manager. No I could not see a breakdown. Come on that is crazy. Sort our your system Peppers. Staff didn't handle this well at all.

Kia ora QTOWNFI,

Thank you for recent review of our property, Peppers Bluewater Resort.
We hope that you had a great time at the wedding, and we appreciate your comments about the room itself. It is disappointed to hear that we were unable to be more helpful with the breakdown of the bill for you. This is certainly something we should have no issue performing, and I am sitting down with our team this morning to ensure we have these systems in place moving forward. We do apologise for any inconvenience we caused to you, but certainly appreciate you taking the effort to let us know.

Many thanks,
