We were the only people staying for the two nights we were there so Tracey kindly upgraded us. The room was immaculate and well presented. The breakast was the best we had on our trip. Tracey is a wonderful host. Highly reccommended.

Moonlight offers comfort and hospitality by the bucket. Tracy is truly an exceptional host, who certainly has a talent for concocting delicious breakfasts! We stayed only a night, but would definitely opt to return if we ever visit the area again.

While the owners are away Sue is running things and she couldn't have been more helpful.

We stayed in the Sol Room. Note that there is no TV is any of the rooms, it is mentioned on the website but it's easy to miss. So we had kitted ourselves out with reading material and an mp3 player with external speakers.

We loved the room, which is the biggest of the three on offer, effectively a hotel room really with full ensuite facitilities and a small fridge, toaster, kettle, and tea & coffee supplies (incl. plunger coffee), plates, wine glasses, etc.

As we were on foot, Sue offered to pick us up from the Intercity bus, she also drove us to the Tekapo Springs (which is probably almost 2.5km from Moonlight) and she also gave us a lift to the village center in the morning. Not that Moonlight is actually that far from the village (shops) as there is a walkway next to the bridge that quickly leads up to very close to were Moonlight is.

The breakfast was incredible, I knew there would be a croissant each and some fresh baked bread, but there was also a small fruit salad, yoghurt, and hard boiled egg for each of us, and condiments to go with the bread. We ended up buttering the rest of the bread and taking it for a snack later in the day. There's also cereals in the room.

My partner loves dogs and knowing from the website that there are two resident dogs, I had emailed ahead of time saying my partner would love to spend some time with them. Sue also has a dog of her own, so the 3 humans and 3 canines got together to walk the dogs up the hill nearby.

Definitely stay here if you can do without a TV for the night (we didn't miss it at all!). Thanks Sue!

Room Tip: Check Moonlight's website but I think Sol is clearly the best room, it's slightly removed fr...

Lovely B&B in Lake Tekapo. Just a short walk to where the restaurants and shops are, as well as the lake. Tracy really looked after us and the breakfast was fab - homemade bread, jam and yogurts. The bed was very comfortable and we had our own entrance, which meant when we returned from our night sky tour in the early hours, we didn't disturb the other guests or owners.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B.

Reasonably priced for the area, this B&B offers a spacious area- probably best suited for a family stay. Amazing breakfast and the host who was filling in for the owners was more than hospitable.

We stayed in the Sol room for one night. The room was phenomenal, huge and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was amazing, and had the best shower! Breakfast was really delicious, it was a continental style (the only cooked option was boiled eggs) but exceeded our expectations - homemade bread (which was still warm), croissants, jam and honey, yoghurt, fruit salad. It was also really lovely to have it delivered to our room, which meant we could eat at our own pace. Moonlight is in a really peaceful location, though only a short walk from the lake. Sue, who was looking after the B&B on behalf of the owner, was very friendly but unobtrusive and we really valued having some time to ourselves. We wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed one night on the way to Queenstown and it was a peaceful location to stay at. Room is large but rather basic compared to some of the other B&Bs although very very comfortable and great value for the price. No view of the lake but perfectly lovely for one or 2 nights stay in a quiet town. Good breakfast and a welcoming host.
