We were looked after well in a very nice room and enjoyed our short stay at lake tekapo lodge. The highlight was definitely the lovely breakfast cooked by Alisdair. It is a B And B so you do share your table with other guests.

Hi Nick. Many thanks for your review and pleased you enjoyed your stay. The service we offer is an intimate hosted bed and breakfast with six adult guests only. Breakfast is a communal affair. We do offer a guest lounge with self service complimentary drinks and often guests converse and make new friends - that is if they have not already met each other at other similar accommodation - NZ is a village! Hope to see you again one day. Best, Stephanie

Just had amazing stay with Stephanie & Alistair.
Luxurious rooms, comfort plus. Was delighted with balcony off room that had sun loungers and was a neat place to relax and absorb fantastic view of lake & mountains. Village was a short walk away & catered for tourist shopping.
Breakfast was scrumptious. Evening meal was additional but well worth the extra - superb presentation, delicious flavours. Excellent selection of wines.
A well appointed lounge excellent for relaxing after an exhilarating day and provided liquid refreshments both alcohol and non alcohol which was a really neat touch.
Definitely stay again and recommend to other travellers and friends.

My husband and I stayed one night at Lake Tekapo Lodge. Stephanie enthusiastically greeted us and showed her around her lovely home. She informed us she had taken the liberty of making dinner reservations at one of the few restaurants in town as it was a Friday night and they tend to get busy. We really appreciated her thoughtfulness and had a nice meal at Mackenzies.

Stephanie and Alistair's home is beautiful. The three B&B rooms are all in one wing with a large guest lounge with books, soft drinks, espresso machine and wine available for guests. Our room was large and artfully decorated. The bathroom had a huge shower and robes and toiletries were provided. Satellite TV in the room was a nice touch as was the outdoor sitting area overlooking Lake Tekapo!

They are just a short walk into town and to the Church of the Good Shepherd. We wandered into town and then came back to the lodge to sit on the patio with a glass of wine before our dinner reservation. We also spent some time looking at the beautiful art throughout the home.

We had a great nights sleep, enjoyed the huge shower and then were treated to a made to order breakfast with Alistair cooking and Stephanie chatting with us and the other couple that were staying. The large table was in front of a large picture window so we ate a delicious egg/omelette breakfast overlooking the lake and town. We lingered over breakfast talking.

Stephanie made sure we had good directions for our onward journeys. We left feeling as if we had stayed with friends and were certainly spoiled by them! Thank you Stephanie and Alistair!!

Many thanks Deb - really enjoyed your company and stories. Learning about your lifestyle and life experiences is one of the great pleasures of hosting lovely people like you and Brad! What a pity you only stayed one night but i hope our paths cross again one day. Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Best, Stephanie

Stayed at Tekapo Lodge 16th March for two evenings and what a beautiful place. You know you are somewhere special when you arrive and outside the front door is a welcoming sign with the Christian names of the guests listed. The guest house overlooks Lake Tekapo with great views of the mountains.
The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable, as is the shower room. French windows open out onto a super garden and there are chairs to sit out on your own verandah. All the rooms are decorated with art works collected by Stephanie & Alistair and there are vases of flowers everywhere, adding yet another special touch.
Breakfasts were delicious with a great choice and Alistair cooks bacon perfectly. There is also a separate guest lounge with complimentary refreshments - tea/coffee, wine/beer, a lovely room and Stephanie and Alistair were always around to have a chat with their guests when they returned home in the evening.
Stephanie provided us with advice on the best places to visit and where to eat, booking a table both evenings for us at a local restaurant, which was just a five minute walk away.
A special touch on arriving home the second evening the sign at the door had been changed to 'welcome back Christine & Graham'.
Should we ever be fortunate enough to return to NZ for a third time we will definitely be in touch. Thank you to you both for a super time. x

Many thanks - it was lovely to have you stay with us. Breakfast was a chatty happy time!
We try to make our guests feel very welcome from the start by writing their names. You know we are expecting you! Have been caught out though as sometimes the "official" name as per the passport is not the "known" name! However the intent was there.... We welcome guests back as it is as if we have friends stay in our home. Look forward to seeing you again on your third trip!? Ka kite ano - until we meet again. Best, Stephanie
