“Very nice pools.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

Went to visit the hot pools and found them very good. The weather wasn't that great but being in the hot pools kept you nice and warm. With three to choose from spoilt for choice. The only down point was the communal changing room, it was busy the day we went and there was no space on the benches they provide to get changed so armed with my bag i found a toilet/shower room. Only to find wet soggy toilet paper all over the floor also pink hair tie and the shower was only attached by some black tape. We spent two hours their and the water in the pools looks very clean and the grounds are well maintained. But again went back to the changing room to find the toilet had the same wet soggy paper on the floor and pink hair tie still there even tho the sign outside the changing room had said that Jess had apparently check them twice since i arrived. Over all i really did like the hot springs and would not let this deter me from going back.

“Wonderful surprise find in Tekapo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

Stopped at the campsite for the night and found to our delight that there were hot springs just a few hundred metres down the road! $20 per adult so a little pricey but at the end of a long day it was worth every penny. Open until 9pm and they have a "no kids" pool at the top so the kids can enjoy a swim and so can the adults - in peace! The adults pool is also the hottest as they have 3 temperature choices. This was just heaven and I would recommend it to anyone after a long day travelling or big day skiing. Oh and it has a cafe and bar attached :)

“A relaxing break on the trip south”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in and had an hour in the hot pools on our road trip from Christchurch to Wanaka. It's about half way so it was a perfect stop to refresh and recharge. The facilities are very clean and there is everything you need. We had packed our togs with an infant nappy for our little one, but hired towels and it was great to have a warm shower before getting back in the car. The pools were clean and very relaxing. Great views to the mountains. I wish we had time for a massage, would have topped off the experience. Fun for the whole family, highly recommend.

“Something for everyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

You can buy discount vouchers at www.bookme.co.nz for massages at the dayspa, or entry to the hot springs. We paid 1/2 price - $50 for a 1hr massage. We had a mix-up with the appointment time and the day spa were very nice in accommodating us. We also paid 1/2 price - $10 for adult entry. Just make sure you buy your vouchers in advance - you can't buy them on BookMe on the day.

We all enjoyed the 3 outdoor hot spring pools which have stunning views of the lake and mountains. Each pool has a different temperature with one pool at 40C and adults only.

There is also an outdoor ice rink as well as a 150m long snow tube slope. At night from 6-9pm you can ski/snowboard the slope for $30 but I wouldn't recommend it - if you're a beginner the slope would be too steep and if you're better than beginner you'd find it boring.

There is a conveyor belt which transports you and your snow tube (double tubes are available so you can slide down with a friend or child) up the slope.

In one hour my kids (aged 8.5 and 7) got over 10 rides for only an extra $11 on top of their spa pool entry fee - all up they paid about $27 and for an extra $6 they could have gone ice-skating as well (skate hire included).

There is a coffee shop with open fire and comfy lounge - serving meals as well. There's also an outdoor area with some benches and tables.

Hot showers and hair dryers are provided. BYO towel and shampoo. You can hire towels and swimming costumes.

A very reasonably-priced attraction. We arrived about 11.30am and left about 6pm after having a shower.

Lake Tekapo town is about a 20 minute walk along the lake.

If you are going during the week check if they are expecting any school groups. The day we went there was a crowd of about 60 primary school children. Luckily we got in the spa pools before them and while they were in the spa pool my kids went snow-tubing. It wouldn't be particularly relaxing in the hot pools with a school group visiting and the change-room was chaotic while they were in there!
