We stayed in aldorie lodge, an adorable house over looking the wee church, we used this as our wedding accomadation, it made a pefect backdrop for photos, and was comfortable spacious and full of beautiful funishings and nic nacs, so much nicer than a boring hotel room. The owners and staff at parkbrae were amazing, nothing was a problem, they happily let us use the BBQ and have a family get together withen their beatiful gardens. Extended family had stayed in other cottages withen parkbrae and all were impressed with their accomadation also. We will definatly be back.

Parkbrae is a charming spot, situated idyllically on the shores of Lake Tekapo, just a short walk from the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd and the statue of the Collie Dog, overlooking the stunning view of the lake and mountains. We spent a very comfortable night and were warmly welcomed by the hosts who made us feel part of the family. We would highly recommend this property with its secret gardens and wide choice of accommodation to anyone wishing to experience the best of Tekapo. A perfect choice for families. Don't forget to take a trip up to the top of Mt John to the Observatory and cafe. We will be back and will be sure to spend longer next time.

We spent two nights in the very cute Garden Cottage. The views are unbeatable (looking straight down to the Church of the Good Shepherd and lake), the cottage was well appointed and cosy with so much character (we loved the fire and clawfoot bath!), the gardens are beautiful and the hosts couldn't have done more to be more welcoming. Our girls especially loved feeding the horses and playing in the Dolls House. It's a magical spot - we'll definitely be back!

We spent two extremely comfortable nights at Lake Tekapo on Parkbrae Estate. The accommodation was immaculate, very clean and with all home comforts. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The Estate is small and very well manicured in a great position overlooking the Church of the Good Shepherd. The accommodation is within easy walking distance of the village centre with many and varied restaurants - a wonderful location. Will definitely return to Parkbrae when next in the vicinity.

Room Tip: For two couples Garden Cottage is best as it has 2 bathrooms, with wonderful views. One couple choos...

With so many beautiful, well fitted houses/cottages this makes the ideal wedding accommodation. The bride stayed in Aldouri and we had our hair and makeup done in the living room, looking out towards the church of the Good Shepherd. I stayed across the road in the Graden Cottage which like all the accommodation at Parkbrae is excellent. The Groomsmen stayed in The Tower and Bush house. It worked so well having everyone close and the added bonus was the excellent quality of the accommodation and the amazing views! The gardens at Parkbrae and beautiful with lots of opportunities for photos, not to mention how close you are to the lake and church as well! I would highly recommend Parkbrae as both wedding accommodation or if you just looking for a lovely place to stay in Tekapo!

We had 2 nights enjoying the comforts of this lovely house. It's 3 spacious bedrooms and lounge look out into native bush but still get plenty of sun. Two generous bathrooms meant no hold ups when getting ready to go out in the mornings. The well appointed kitchen made self catering easy. Located a minute from the lake front made a 6.30am walk to watch the sun rise and paint the landscape with its warm glow one of our many special memories of Takapo.
The weather was perfect for the 3 days we were there. Our decision to drive up Mt John for an early morning coffee before we left was rewarded with the best coffee, scones and muffins we have had for a long time and as for the view - it is breathtaking. The glistening top of MT Cook could be seen above the Southern Alps with Lakes Tekapo and Alexandrina sparkling at their base. There was not a breath of wind so the silence was exquisite.
We will come again.

Room Tip: Bush House is perfect for family groups or friends. Plenty of car parking.

A family wedding at Lake Tekapo required the perfect accommodation. Parkbrae Estate provided it. The brides parents and grandmothers enjoyed the charming Aldouri Lodge while the young marrieds loved Bush House and Garden Studio.. Nothing was too much trouble even for the youngest traveller. MacKenzie Basin wind lived upto its name but the bride blew us away as some traditions were followed at the Church of The Good Shepherd.. The bonus was the gardens that relaxed and the walk to the ceremony. Thankyou for being part of our stunning weekend. We are coming back.
