Lake Tekapo Motels & Holiday Park

We stayed here for only one night and we had a twin suite. The view from our bedroom/balcony was amazing, directly onto the lake with the mountains in the background. The suite was pretty clean and had all the basics covered. Internet costs extra which is always a minus, but mobile data reception here is great so you don't need wifi if you have a mobile phone.

Fridge in the room is good, no fans or aircon though. The facilities seem good, they have several BBQs people can use and there are tables and benches nearby with a view of the lake. Great for a family BBQ dinner. Don't expect a 5 star resort, but from our experience this was clean, functional and friendly accommodation.

Stayed here for two weeks in our caravan. Very helpful and lovely staff.
Great view over the lake. Good facilities some have been upgraded. Clean and tidy.
If you get a site overlooking the lake be aware of the VERY hard ground and the wind. Nearly impossible to get pegs into ground.
Close to pools, Mt. John and a short walk into town.
Overall a great stay.

If you are not a Kiwi, a Bach is like a small holiday shack! Ours was very small but cosy with lake views. It was decorated with quirky style and had a good kitchen. It was clean and very quiet. Ducks are friendly. Note the toilet is just outside the door but no problem.

Stayed here two night during a trip to NZ SI in Nov 2013. 1st night I stayed in a cabin. Very basic and old. Not the most cleanly and beds seemed really old. Common facilities seemed really old as well.
Second night I upgraded to a deluxe en-suite with bathroom-shower, kitchenette, and TV. Much nicer units, though still not the cleanest. Nice view, and very quiet.
Best thing about this property is its proximity to the hot springs.
If you check out the competition in the little town of Lake Tekapo you will find this holiday park (deluxe suites)the most reasonable priced units.

Room Tip: Splurge and rent a deluxe suite if available.

We stayed in a bach for one night, with stunning views over the lake. We had expected very basic accommodation and were very pleasantly surprised by the size and standard - the Bach had everything we needed and was very nicely decorated.

We enjoyed a short walk along the lakeside, and there seemed to be plenty to do if staying longer.

Despite arriving before check in time, we were welcomed and allowed to check in as the Bach was ready.

Good value, and would stay here again.

Me & my 3 mates stayed in Lake Tekapo Holiday park only one night, but it was amazing. It is very easy to find it. We stayed in tents, but we walked around all campsite and there is amazing view from every place in this resort.

All place is very clean - kitchen, bathrooms. We were confused that there is nothing in the kitchen (no dishes & cutlery) what makes this campsite more for motorhome travellers - can you imagine carry all the stuff in our backpacks during travelling around all island? Also you have to pay for showers $2 / 10 minutes.

If you like nature there are many wild ducks, rabbits, squirrels, frogs, etc - we loved it!

Anyway we will definitely come back again!

Room Tip: Try camping - I though that I would hate it, but I loved it! There is nothing nicer like to go to sl...

We booked a self-contained unit and a 6-bed cabin for 10 of us. Beds were comfy and clean. Our group slept in the self contained unit and it was well equipped with bunk beds and a double. There was an ensuite toilet, a heater, tv, basic toiletries, eating utensils, toaster, sink, toaster and fridge. The 6-bed cabin do not have an ensuite. it was only a short stroll to the Lake Tekapo Hot Pools and water sports activity on the beach. We only had one night but wish we had longer. Our family had 4 kids under 12, a teenager and 2 persons over 65 and everyone's needs were well fulfilled. The wild ducks and gulls can be annoying so avoid feeding them if you don't want them near your cabin. We didn't use the wifi but there was heaps to do to keep the kids occupied. We will definitely come back again!
