Lake Tekapo Motels & Holiday Park

stayed in 2 bed tourist flat with the best view possible over looking lake tekapo with no trees blocking the view. the unit was basic and could do with a lot of up dating. there was a shower and sink inside the unit and the toilet was outside really strange and not good in the cold! unit was fairly cold had to keep heater on all the time. rooms were big and plenty of space in lounge. the light switch was strange a piece of string by the light bulb. helpful staff and close to the shops. for the unit i would say it is expensive.

We stayed in a standard cabin for one night. The cabin was a bit run down and the louvre windows didn't close tightly so we could still hear the noise of other campers as if we were in a tent. This would be the most expensive cabin we have stayed in - definitely overpriced for what you get. You still have to pay $2.00 per shower. Lovely location beside the lake with great views.

We stayed in a cabin, there was only beds - no other facilities so it was very basic. It was $90 for 3 of us so it was pretty good value.
The view was spectacular though as it was right on the lake.

Ok for a night, but I probably wouldn't stay for longer.

The showers were $2 for 10 mins
There is a fairly well equiped kitchen room that you can use aswell.

We stayed here for one night in our camper van. For 20 dollar per person it sucks you have to pay 2 dollars to take a shower. Thus, we took a long shower for free in our camper van.

Good location, lake view was nice, nearby hotpools a nice visit. However, we prefer the more relaxing DoC camp sites.

Camped here at powered sites for $18 per person. We parked our motorhome at the nearest view of the lake, with tall trees in between. It's located just further down after the famous Good Shephard Church. So-so facilities, we didn't use the toilet since it costs extra $2 to use it :P Dumping sites available, that's a plus and not to forget available wifi throughout the compound. Best for one day stay, that's it.

We stayed in an en-suite cabin. The bed was extremely comfortable, with excellent quality bedding and an electric blanket. It was spacious, warm and very clean and had a great view of the Lake - highly recommended. One glitch was the kitchen that had no pots, pans or utensils - perhaps those can be rented from the reception.
