This place is fantastic! Such a cool funky place to have in our suburb...similar menu to the Newmarket in st kilda - but better! They also whipped me up a fantastic amaretto sour....something that is hard to find!

Visited Black Toro for lunch after reading and article about it stating that the Wagyu Beef Sliders were a hit. They were good in taste, but at $7 per slider you will be still hungry after you have left the shop even if you've had 3, which would be $21. I know Wagyu Beef prices are on the high end, but I'd have on the menu 2 sliders for $11 or $12. Sliders usually come in sets of 2 or 3. So we were slightly dissapointed we just saw one on the plate. Being still hungry we ordered corn on the cob, which was actually half a corn on the cob, for around $4 a 1/2 cob. That was impressive, espiecally the spicy sauce/ dressing it was served on. The service was good. The prices are high for a suburban restaurant, so not great value.

After spending about $40 for three of us, we walked out still hungry, but a positive thing about its location is that there is a BreadTop store next door so we ate things from there then we were full.

Very interesting and slightly different restaurant, specialising in a Spanish/Mexican style of cuisine that is not usually experienced in Melbourne. The set menu was wonderful, allowed to sit back and enjoy. Service excellent, efficient, nicely paced delivery of courses. Presentation and taste was outstanding. Pricing is on the higher end for a suburban restaurant but still excellent value for the dishes, presentation and service. You don't mind the higher end of price when the experience is this good.

Had a great meal tonight at the Black Toro! Service was fantastic given it was a full house and the food was yummy! Highly recommend! But given it was packed on a Tuesday night I suggest you book! My interstate guests were super impressed!
