Witches Falls Cottages
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 9, 2012

My husband and I have stayed at Witches falls cottages twice now, both times to celebrate our May birthdays. Winter is a magical time to coccoon yourself in this cosy rainforest haven. The breakfasts, both continental and cooked are exceptional in quality and quantity. Our favourite walk to Witches falls is only a short walk up the road. And at sunset we wander accross to the rotary lookout with a bottle of wine and enjoy the spectacle. We have had quite a few romantic getaways in our 30 year marriage to both the sunshine and goldcoast hinterlands but this is one of our favourites.

Witches Falls Cottages was wonderful even before my partner and I arrived. David and Daniela were helpful with directions and the place was easy to find because of it. Their local knowledge of restaurants and attractions is unparalleled. We were helped with our luggage and given an informative, warm tour of our cottage's facilites. The cottage itself felt secluded and romantic, surrounded by an unobtrusive wall enclosing a private courtyard and the most magical bathroom imaginable. The cottage itself was beautifully appointed with all the necessities any couple could need to never leave the room after stocking the fridge. Our daily hamper delivery was unobtrusive and honestly the most delicious breakfast imaginable. The luxury of cooking the gourmet contents in our own time allowed us the priviledge of eating whenever we decided to pry ourselves out of the big, comfortable bed. We were left in total peace for the entire stay with no annoying housekeeping calls that feel like an invasion of privacy. The location was central to some of the best Mt Tamborine attractions, including the amazing glow worm cave. I thoroughly enjoyed the whimsy of drawing and writing in the cottage scrapbook. We even checked out nearly half an hour late without complaint or extra cost. Our stay at Witches Falls Cottages was sincerely the most perfect, idyllic place we could have ever wished and we have many fond, romantic memories of our time there. We can never thank David and Daniela enough for their amazing hospitality and wonderful cottage. We will, without a doubt, be staying there again.

Room Tip: There are only five cottages. All of which are equally lovely. Ours was number four, the furthest al...

The cottages are absolutely beautiful. Though they are close to the hub of the mountain...you feel like you are a world away in these beautiful, quaint and well appointed cottages. They have everything you need...loved the ipod dock!!! Thank you! The bed was sooo comfortable and the spa and bathroom were just awesome. The cottage was so private and secluded...and the courtyard with our very own bbq was an absolute luxury....you could almost forget the world is out there! A truly magical experience. Thank you David and Daniella....sorry we missed you! Kevin and Tracey

Room Tip: I am sure it would not matter where you were.....they are all gorgeous!!

As you walk under the arch and turn left towards reception, an overwhelming sense of awe sweeps upon you. You know that you are about to experience something magical. Through the door you half expect to be greeted by a gnome or a pixie. Instead you find David and Daniela, two of the friendliest, most down to earth people around. However, they're SO friendly, there may be a little bewitching going on.. *wink*

The cottages are exquisite, almost something conjured straight out of an Enid Blyton tale. They're cosy (and that's not a cute euphanism for small - they're plenty spacious) and everything is laid out just perfectly. Having a spa directly under the stars seems a little naughty at first, but soon the indulgence sets in and you wonder why you don't have one of these at home. Surrounded by lush foliage, it is so easy to forget that you're still within reach of civilisation.

Our time, although short, was remarkable and most definitely what the doctor ordered. Never have I stayed somewhere where I felt more at home than I do at home. Witches Falls Cottages is going to become our vacation spot, our Hamptons in the Hinterland.

Thank you so much, David and Daniela. We will see you soon! <3 Roy & Bec

There's nothing quite the Witches Falls Cottages - this was our second visit and again we stayed two nights to experience the complete bliss of this place. We also booked in a massage with Ripple Massage who come along and visit you at your cottage - just to make ourselves completely comatose. There is nothing we dislike about the cottages - there isn't a fault to pick - except to say that breakfast isn't really breakfast - it's morning tea too! The freshly baked loaves that come in your BBQ or continental (we tried both) hamper end up being what you snack on throughout the day with a little cheese from the local factory and the complimentary port provided in your room. I could go on - so I will! We love the cottage's location within walking distance of wineries, one of Qld's first national parks, a great irish pub and much more including some interesting geocaches (if you're into that) - two in particular were rgeat finds at the Botanic Gardens a short drive away. All in all a blissful place to run away to - we left our 17 and 18 yr old children at home suffering empty nest syndrome! :) Thank you to our hosts David and Daniela - the Hotel Inspector has no need to visit you guys - perfection cannot be improved upon.

Room Tip: We have stayed in Cottage 1 and 4 - both excellent

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary at Witches Falls Cottages. Our lovely hosts David and Daniela made us feel so welcome upon arrival and helped us settle into the gorgeous chalet. There is so much to do on Mount Tamborine and with our fantastic hosts suggestions we ended up doing a Hop on/Hop off tour, the beautiful Skywalk, the Glow Worm caves and lots of wine tasting at the various wineries scattered around the Mountain.

The chalet was really comfortable, with all the amenities required for a pleasurable stay. The bed was so nice it was difficult to get up of a morning, but the BBQ Breakfast hamper made it all worthwhile! The German sausages were to die for and the bacon mouth watering! The BBQ Breakfast hamper is a must have! And the spa bath was just heavenly...

Overall, we had a fantastic 2 night stay and it really made our anniversary so special. Highly recommended I cannot wait to go back! Thank you to David and Daniela- you guys rock!

Room Tip: Book early, or for mid week. Speak to the hosts who cannot do enough for you.
