“Perfect for a relaxing, romantic weekend”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

My husband and I stayed at Avocado Sunset this weekend in the Daintree room. We had a wonderful time - very relaxing, quiet and peaceful.

Our room was beautifully furnished (with a large bathroom, huge bath and comfy bed), and the views were incredible.

Richard and Cheryl were friendly and generous (and cooked us a delicious breakfast!). We're looking forward to staying there again one day.

My wife and I have stayed there twice now (once in July 2010, and again this last weekend gone (March 2012), and both times it has been an absolute delight. The first time, we stayed in the Oriental Room, and this time we stayed in the Daintree Room.

Avocado Sunset is located in a very quiet yet convenient location, only a few minutes drive from just about everything worth looking at on the mountain. There is a big common lounge area that is very comfortable, and there are board games to play and DVD's to watch while you are staying.

The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable and private. The Oriental Room had a nice "lounge" area and a fireplace (great for winter!), and the Daintree Room had a brilliant bathroom, complete with a very funky shower.

Richard and Cheryl are superb hosts. Easy to get along with, professional yet personal. The cooked breakfasts every morning are something to totally look forward to, and the port to sip in the evenings is a great way to end the day :)

Would highly recommend this place, and look forward to trying out the other 2 rooms on offer :)

Room Tip: Daintree and Safari rooms have a nice view from the balcony, although you'll also be able to see...

Thanks for your great feedback, still gives us a great buzz to get a new review come up on our PC!
As you say, nothing is far from our location on the Mountain and the choice of places to visit and places to eat is quite extensive.
We are about to renovate the Dorset room and that will also get the new "funky shower head". Cheryl and I look forward to welcoming you both back again! Thanks for staying with us.

This was my husband's and I first bed and breakfast stay, and must say we were very pleasantly surprised. The hosts Cheryl and Richard were extremely warm and welcoming, and cooked us up a lovely breakfast each morning, (avacados are to die for!!) we also had dinner on the balcony , very relaxing........ The room we stayed in (Daintree room) was beautiful - stay in this room if you love everything that relates to the "rainforest" - luxurious and very clean - met all our expectations and more,....... and the views from our balcony breathtaking!! We would definitely recommend "Avacado Sunset" to any one, and if you are after a view- stay in the Daintree or Safari room.
Thank you Cheryl and Richard for making our stay wonderful in every way, we will definitely return !!!

My husband stayed at Advocado Sunset in Nov 2011 and it was a most enjoyable stay.

The Guesthouse itself is beautiful and the view over the mountain side & woodland is spectacular. The sunset was increadible, very peaceful. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. We spent one night in the Daintree Room. The surrounding area of Tamborine Mountain is beautiful..we also recomend Clancy's the Irish Pub for Lunch!!

The hosts, Cheryl and Richard were very welcoming and informative of the area.. we would definately be back if we were passing through the area again and would stay for longer!!

Room Tip: Try the Daintree Room!!

We have visited twice now with 2 x sets of family, and both times have been amazing. Our family agreed that this is a super special place to stay. We had the Safari and Daintree rooms both times, which both have stunning views, and are extremely roomy and comfortable. Cheryl and Richard are fantastic hosts, and made us feel so welcome and comfortable in their home. I would endeavour to take any future visitors for a night of two, and hope to do a winter visit soon so the open fires are lit !

Room Tip: The Daintree room is my favourite, lovely spa bath with moutain views - perfect to have a glass of s...

Without question, the only thing that surpassed the ample and luxorious facilities, was the freindliness of the retreats owners.

They were such an accomading couple.

Note the views from this place, were amazing - terraces all round the property over looked acre of land on top of mount tambourine.

I have to say that this is not a "B&B", this is a luxury retreat.

We stayed in the safari room which hosted immaculate bathroom spa and shower facilities.

This should be marketed as a retreat as it is, by far and away, in the higher enchelons of luxury holiday accomodation.

Room Tip: Safari and Oriental room are the best, but all have unique selling points. Ritchie Fisher

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and all I can say is that It is the most wonderful place on Mt. Tamborine! Richard and Cheryl and the most wonderful hosts and serve up a fantastic breakfast - they made us feel at home as soon as we walked in the door. We stayed in the Safari Room and it was just perfect! I cannot rave about Avocado Sunset enough...I will definately be staying again when I return to Australia!
