The glow worm cave tour was pretty good. The girl that sold our tickets was very cheerful and suggested we pop next door to do the Ceder Creek wine tasting while we waited for our tour. The wines were very delicious!
Our tour guide was very bubbly and informative, if a little forced in places. The only downside was due to the rain, the cave had flooded and there were a lot of pipes and pumps trying to get the water back out.
Teh glow worms themselves were not what I had expected but turned out to be quite interesting little insects..who knew! All in all I think it was totally worth the $11 entry fee.

“Great side trip”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

My family chose to visit the Glow Worm Cave with no expectations at all. It was more of a filler for our last day on Mount Tamborine but we were all very impressed with this great breeding programme.

The grounds are lovely and our brief wait for the glowworm tour produced a ridiculous number of photos of the resident bearded monitor lizards as we went to look at the lake. There were plenty of shady spots to sit while waiting for the tours that run on the hour and half hour. I felt my entry ticket contributed to this great private attempt to bolster the threatened rainforest glowworm population. Once the cave population reaches a viable point they will begin to establish them back into the rainforest. The ‘cave’ is an attractive man-made environment which provides the glowworms with a suitable habitat.

The guide was informative and entertaining. My only complaint was the noisy family who were late for the tour and then made a lot of noise waiting outside while the DVD was running.

Cost for adults is $11, students $9 (no problem with being enrolled in another state) and children $5.50. The venue is also a winery and has an interesting art gallery.

“Well worth the admission price”

My hubby and I decided to visit this man made cave to see the glow worms. Wow it is an amazing experience. The cave does not look fake and this way you can find out more about the glow worms. You even get a really close view of the little creatures. The parkland at the centre is also so enjoyable for lunch or just relaxing in.
