“Honeymoon Bliss”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

First of all I need to personally thank Alberto and his family for everything he did for us during our stay. He really made our Honeymoon in Mendoza very special and worry free.

Things in Argentina did not go as smooth as we wanted at the onset of our trip. Leaving Chile we learned of a full country strike in Argentina, leaving the airport in Mendoza closed for the day. We unfortunately had to stay another night in Santiago (not so bad) and when we contacted Alberto he was so understanding of our plight. We had missed our cancelation date, but in such a kind and understanding way, allowed us to cancel for the night without any charge.

Once we got to Case Glebinias we knew we had chosen the right place in Mendoza. The grounds are so unbelievable lush you would never think you were in the suburbs of Mendoza. Usually when I see pictures of a hotel that look fantastic, and then arrive at the location I am somewhat disappointed as they done in a way to make things look better than they may actually be, but Casa Glebinias is even more beautiful and lush then it appears in there pictures. Rooms were very clean and well appointed, including a small wet bar and kitchen area perfect for a snack and bottle of wine.

We were obviously in Mendoza to try all the fine wine and food this town has to offer and Alberto really made this very easy. He set up two days of Wine tours with an English speaking guide that was fantastic (ask for David if you can). He was also a great help in making dinner reservation and helping with transportation where we needed to go. The personal touches were overwhelming!

A few points about the place to be aware. You are in a small suburb of Mendoza so you are not very close to downtown, although the town center is within walking distance. After coming from Santiago, this was perfect and exactly what we needed. There are a lot of dogs barking but this is true of anywhere in South America, so you should not be surprised. Make sure to walk into town on the well lite road. Some great shops and restaurants that are easy and cheap. Finally, you can hear your neighbors a bit from inside your rooms, but nothing out of the ordinary for a hotel.

When we come back to Mendoza, which I hope is very soon, we would never think of staying anywhere else. I usually like to try new things, but with this hotel, I can really say we found something special.

We were originally supposed to stay here for two nights, but loved it so much that we decided to stay for three. We loved the grounds and felt so relaxed here. Our hosts were just so sweet & a true delight. I even managed to get Maria Gracias' eggplant recipe- you MUST try the empanadas when you are visiting- a great light dinner!

We walked to wineries while there, which was great for us as we love to walk. It would be a bit of a long walk for those who aren't big walkers, or have strollers, etc.

The accommodations are great- you have your own little space and everything you need. We had a small balcony where we sat in the evenings enjoying our new wines before walking over to dinner. (Empanadas! Every. Night.)

We definitely plan to go back as we truly loved everything here.

Casa Glebinias is a great choice for someone travelling to Mendoza. The hotel is located in Chacras de Coria, which is the best place to stay in Mendoza. Around there are lots of awesome restaurants and some wineries. The hotel is very beautiful with lots of outdoor green areas, a swimming pool, chairs and tables outside where you can drink wine and eat cheese. The houses are very beautiful and the decoration too, confortable and clean. I stayed in a house with 2 rooms ensuite, a living room and a kitchen. The owners are generous and nice people and the staff too.
My only complaint is the breakfast which missed some itens on the table, like cheese, ham and eggs.
Totally recommend it!

This hotel has certainly been reviewed enough that there's little new to add. Still, I wanted to add my voice to the chorus of praise for the charming ambience at CG.I started relaxing the second I saw the door to my own personal hobbit house, the base for my stay in Chacras de Coria. The room turned out to be more comfortable than I could have imagined, with three living areas and good air conditioning (necessary for us because open windows meant mosquitoes, which meant a certain amount of frustrated sleeplessness the first night). Alberto and Maria Gracia patiently oriented us to the area, and remained patient and helpful throughout our stay.

A few observations and pointers:

Breakfast is simple. This is not a huge chain hotel with a staff of dozens. And you will have ample opportunities to eat well as the day progresses in this agricultural area.

This is not a contemporary boutique hotel. Things are plain and simple and homey. No fancy soaps or bathrobes. Manage your expectations, you'll get them at the next stop......

If you can, have a car. Exploring the area was a highlight of this leg of our trip. And I personally would not want to have done the walk into town for dinner.

The pool: one of the reasons i chose CG. It is large enough for real swimming, and clean and well maintained. No heater, so really a summertime thing. The pool area is lovely and we spent many hours relaxing there, often completely alone.

Enjoyed a wonderful two day stay at this hotel recently. The location is ideal for visiting wineries - which we did by rental bicycle & walking. The hotel is an easy walk from the village where there are many interesting sights, shops and restaurants. The hosts at the hotel were very helpful and pleasant; the grounds beautifully landscaped and the cabin we stayed in was perfect!

we stayed in the Casa at the end of December 2012. The BB is in Chacras, which is the nice place to stay when you go to Mendoza. We heard from other travellers that Mendoza city itself is not very nice. It's about 30 minutes from the Airport and 5 minutes from the wineries.

In Chacras we were one of a handful of travellers only, so we really felt like part of the culture. The owners of Casa and their staff were very helpful for us, very pleasant to be around.

The BB is very cute and cozy. There is also a pool however it is a bit dirty with bugs.

Overall, the case is just as everyone else has described it. A great choice for mendoza.

We stayed at Glebinias for four nights in November and loved it. The owners Alberto and Maria are charming and thoughtful, helping us with restaurant recommendations, a wine tour and everything we needed. They have created a calm, restful country house hotel with comfortable individual chalets, winding paths and beautiful, rose-scented gardens, and a lovely swimming pool. They have an adorable dog called Milagro and some lovely cats - all rescue animals. We would definitely stay with Alberto and Maria again - it's one of the very nicest places we have ever stayed. And the town of Chacras is only a short walk away and filled with some great restaurants.
