A lovely boutique hotel.Very tastfully furnished in the Spanish style the staff are very helpful and friendly. The small breakfast room is very impressive. We ate for two nights in the ajoining restaurant where the food is excellent and you can eat alfresco if the weather suits.

I was so disappointed with this hotel having read so many great reviews. Our room had a musty, damp smell and was very dusty. The room and bathroom were shabby with holes in the sheet and ragged towels. The terrace was not very private as it was part of a large garden and when we sat outside a group of noisy guests were shouting and playing croquet. We were bitten alive by mosquitos when we sat outside and the outside furniture was dirty. Nicolas in Reception was friendly and helpful and the location on the edge of Chacras was ok but we had to drive into town at night as the road was very busy. The breakfast was very basic but the medialunas were delicious.

The Casa La Galeana is an attractive estate with communal grounds and pool. All rooms appear to have individual terraces with seating areas. The rooms and bathrooms are large and reasonably comfortable. However the hotel is somewhat unloved and today appears to fall short of the excellent reviews it has received.

We found a number of maintenance issues in the room. Slow draining sink, tap handle broken, toilet flush sticking, flaking paint in places, bathroom extractor fan sounded like a jet engine. The towels and bed sheet were clean but worn in places. There were no drinking glasses in the room when we checked in. Areas of the room were dusty and the bathroom tiles were grubby in places. The terrace furniture was extremely dirty. The wi fi was at times inaccessible and kept dropping. Breakfast was adequate but nothing more.

If the hotel addresses it’s obvious complacency then it could be excellent, but until improvement is made I could not recommend it. A great shame.

Galeana is perfect: its really a quiet getaway with wonderful staff, spaciuos and comfy rooms, the atmosphere is absolutely stunning. Staff is helpful of arranging everything you want for tours and bikes and definitely ask for wine advice in the small wine cellar. What a gift to have been here!

My family and I stayed at Casa La Galeana las summer for a 4-day long South-American winter retreat. Despite the fact we arrived at 5:30 AM after an exhausting 11-hour drive from Buenos Aires, we were welcomed with arms wide open. The hotel staff not only were kind but also went out of their way to make us feel at home and give us directions or recommend selected wineries in the area where to taste a well-deserved glass -or bottle- of a supreme Malbec and maybe even top it with an exquisite empanada or asado. Breakfast was delicious and varied, with a choice of medialunas, dulce de leche, tortitas, mate, tea, coffee, home-made jam, freshly squeezed orange juice and an appealing atmosphere cradled by some soft tango music playing in the background. Rooms were large and comfy, there's wifi in all the common areas as well. The gardens and the pools (two of them) were filled with crystal clear water. The property features a note-worthy restaurant called "Las Donosas". What else can I say? Great rooms, fully- equipped property, helpful staff, kid-friendly setting, delicious food, lavish ambience. I cannot wait to come back! Looking forward to my next visit.
