Pulmary was the first stop on our Mendoza region wine tour (we just stayed steps away at Lares de Chacras). What a delight! Diana was the most gracious hostess. Ramiro (son) is an excellent wine maker and a very engaging young man. The wines were absolutely delicious. We bought a bottle of the 2010 Reserva Malbec and took it to dinner at Nadia O.F....perfect! Also, Pulmary wines are available in the States via their website. We ordered 3 bottles and they arrived in 3 business days!

Thank Sandy S

Easy walk from plaza to this great stop, spent 2 hours tasting and discussing region with Maria.
Wine is great, tour of cellars and art within very nice. Though we arrived after lunch, others said food was great. Should have bought some!

Pulmary winery is a great boutique (40,000 bottles/year) organic winery near the main square in Chacras de Coria that looks very nondescript from the street, but don't judge the book by it's cover.  I don't get the sense that it's as widely toured as some of it's bigger, more picturesque neighbors (Alta Vista, Clos de Chacras) but it should be!  Our hotel (Lares de Chacras...stay here!) booked a tour/tasting and we were lucky enough to be led by Diana, the owner/winery director.  The tour started with an introduction to their fermentation tanks, which was quickly followed by our first tasting glass of Malbec pulled directly from the tank spigot.  We were blown away!  We followed that up with a similarly drawn Cab Sav and both were great.  We proceeded to spend an hour and a half on a personal tour of the winery with Diana who was both wonderfully personable and incredibly knowledgable on area wines, vineyard production (they own their own), and winery operations.  I easily learned more on this tour than any of the 20+ I've taken in my life.  We tasted five different wines (with nearly full glass pours of each!) and all their wines were all great.  Their tasting cellar (a repurposed fermentation tank!) is gorgeous.  We ended up walking away with two unlabeled (very cool!) bottles of recently bottled Torrontes that was by far the best we've had of that varietal.

Our experience at Pulmary just couldn't have been better!  If you find yourselves in Chacras de Coria, seek out Pulmary for a great learning and tasting experience.

We stopped in for lunch and a tasting and both were wonderful.

Lunch was simple, very tasty food cooked outdoors and from a little shack, served by the chef himself...devine. This was paired with a selection of wines which included a delightful Torrentes, followed by Malbec and Cab Sav. The latter two served by jug straight from the tank as it was awaiting bottling and they were great!

Paul whom had served the wines during lunch also conducted the tour which was undertaken on a personal and relaxed manner for just the two of us. He was very informative and we had a further tasting from a barrel in the cellar.

We decided to take a bottle of the Torrentes which had just been bottled and was still without the label but we could not resist.

All around a brilliant lunch and visit!

Good to see that wineries in Argentina are not always looking at producing these bold and overripe Cab Sauvignon or Malbec s (according to some wine makers this is what the consumer want s ??). Pulmary has a refreshing concept in regards to what to produce and what to sell to the consumers and with this new approach they produce amazingly good wines. Go there and have some lunch with the wines and you ll understand what I m trying to say.
