Wonderful dinner. The service was great, and we enjoyed our seafood appetizers with a bottle of local sparkling wine. We shared the rabbit with a bottle of red wine, and were totally satisfied. The wine list is fantastic, and reasonably priced. Highly recommended, especially in fall/winter.

A nice lunch of vaious meats and cheeses and some good wine was an excellent pre-siesta treat.

I visit mendoza at least once per year, usually for an extended period. Chacras is a great little town outside of Mendoza city. I've eaten at Dantesco many times. The atmosphere is great. They have great outside seating area as well as a warm and comfortable inside area. in addition to their main dining rooms, they have some smaller rooms available for small gatherings. We had a private dinner with friends there just last year. The menu is diverse. They offer a great selection on salami's and proscuitto as well as some nice cheese both cow and goat. The main couse selection is divided into tradition mendoza fare of grilled meats as well as some more adventurous selections like rabbit and seafood stew, both are tasty and worth trying. My kids loved the chocolate lava cake with mascapone ice cream. This is both a comfortable place to go with the family as well as a romantic place for a dinner date. They offer both spanish as well as english menus.

Some mumblings in town about quality here, but I found the rice in the paella the most interesting and well spiced ever. The seafood wasn't outstanding, but I also ordered seafood in the dessert--whose fault is that? Other meals were very good: lomo perfect and butternut squash pie to die for.

One meal doesn't necessarily provide a good representation of a service, however our experience was not good. The service was OK but the meal was very poor. In our three weeks in Argentina, we had beef de charizo about 8-9 times and it was always excellent. Unfortunately our steak at Dantesco was very poor. It was not a very good cut of beef and was served very rare rather than jugoso as requested. ( This, by the way is the only "poor" rating that I have rated in our assessments." ( We had spoken to others who had a much better experience with Dantesco.
